Risk-based inspection (RBI) is an asset integrity
management methodology used to prioritize and manage
the effort of an inspection program based on the
probability (PoF) and consequence of failure (CoF).
RBI optimizes inspection resource allocation by
focusing on high-risk assets and minimizing efforts on low-
risk equipment.
RBI evaluates Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE)
and operational risks. As a result, each piece of equipment
condition is systematically classified in accordance with
the risk-ranking matrix.
