STYLE 009
The Style 009 FireLock EZ rigid coupling is a revolutionary patent-pending new way to join
fire protection piping systems in the quickest manner possible. The unique design permits the
installer to assemble a joint without disassembling the bolts, nuts, gasket and housings. This
installation-ready coupling is easily stabbed on pipe grooved to Victaulic specifications, which
speeds and eases assembly. The Style 009 coupling reduces effort and eliminates the potential
of dropped fasteners.
The Style 009 provides rigidity with its angle bolt pad design. The Style 009 is rigid and does not

accommodate expansion, contraction or angular deflection. Support and hanging requirements
correspond to NFPA 13 Sprinkler Systems.
Style 009 FireLock EZ rigid couplings with the Vic-Plus™ Gasket System are recommended for
use ONLY on fire protection systems.
Vic-Plus Gasket System:
Victaulic® offers a gasket system which requires no field lubrication on wet pipe systems that are
hydrostatically tested. The Vic-Plus™ System (patented) is dry, clean, and non-toxic. It reduces
assembly time substantially and eliminates the mess and chance of over-lubrication. Please refer
to the latest copy of the Victaulic Field Installation Handbook (I-100) for supplemental lubrication
requirements and for dry pipe fire protection systems.

GENERAL NOTES * Working Pressure and End Load are total, from all internal and external loads, based on stan-
dard weight (ANSI) steel pipe, standard roll or cut grooved in accordance with Victaulic specifi-
cations. See page 2 of this document for Listed/Approved ratings on other pipe.
WARNING: FOR ONE TIME FIELD TEST ONLY, the Maximum Joint Working Pressure may be
increased to 1 ½ times the figures shown.
† The allowable pipe separation dimension shown is for system layout purposes only. FireLock EZ
couplings are considered rigid connections and will not accommodate expansion or contraction
of the piping system.
@ Number of bolts required equals number of housing segments.
NOTE: When assembling Style 009 couplings onto FireLock end caps, take additional care to make
certain the cap is fully seated against the gasket end stop. Style 009 FireLock EZ couplings must
not be used with No. 60 Caps. Only No. 006 FireLock Caps can be used with Style 009 FireLock EZ
couplings.
WARNING: Depressurize and drain the piping system before attempting to install, remove, or adjust
any Victaulic piping products.
WARRANTY Refer to the Warranty section of the current Price List or contact Victaulic for details.
