PEOPLE WITH FAMOUS FAILURES

1. BEYONCE KNOWLES

- Girl’s Tyme was a young all-girl group that appeared on Star Search. Beyonce was just 9-
years old when the group lost, and she was shattered. The group was formed when
Beyonce was just 8-years old and it stuck together for 7 long years. Beyonce’s father,
Mathew Knowles, played a hand in managing the girls and quit his full-time job as a
medical-equipment salesman, ultimately creating enormous financial pressure on the
family.

- One of her famous slogan: “Never let success go to your head, never let failure get to
your heart.”

- “I can never be safe; I always try and go against the grain. As soon as I accomplish one
thing, I just set a higher goal. That's how I've gotten to where I am.” This is her life motto
to everything she do.

2. CHARLES DARWIN
- Charles Darwin’s life was once considered a major failure by even his own father. In fact,
it was due to his interest in nature that Darwin ended up neglecting his medical studies at
the University of Edinburgh, and in 1827, dropped out and quit school, leading his father
to say, “You care for nothing but shooting, dogs and rat catching.”

- One of his remarkable slogan that people used still today: “It is not the strongest of the
species that survives, not the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is the most
adaptable to change.”

- "If I had my life to live over again, I would have made a rule to read some poetry and
listen to some music at least once every week."

3. ABRAHAM LINCOLN
- In 1848, at the age of 39-years old, Lincoln also failed in his bid to become
Commissioner of the General Land Office in D.C. Ten years after that, at the age of 49-
years old, he was defeated in his quest to become a U.S. Senator. Of course, through all
the personal, business and political failures, Lincoln didn’t give up.

- Abraham Lincoln's famous slogan that couldn't be forgotten. “I am not bound to win, but
I am bound to be true.”

- “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but
you cannot fool all the people all the time.”
