Project Purpose
The aim of this project is to create an online community- based policy
recommendation system based on sentiment analysis that analyzes user feedback and
provides data-driven policy recommendations. Through enabling users to participate in
policy debates and provide their feedback, the site will utilize sentiment analysis tools to
analyze public sentiment and determine significant issues, with the recommendations
taking into account the overall concerns and aspirations of the community. The
incorporation of a reward system will motivate active involvement, as individuals will be
inspired to contribute frequently and assist in making the forum more dynamic,
inclusive, and representative of conversations on policy issues.
The Initiative contributes to the following Sustainable Development Goals
(SDGs). The initiative contributes most directly to SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong
Institutions), as it establishes a transparent, participatory mechanism for decision-
making that ensures people with diverse viewpoints are heard while the policies are
being formulated. Furthermore, it is also contributing to SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities)
as it gives voice to marginalized communities so that they may shape policies that
impact them. The project further promotes SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and
Infrastructure) by employing cutting-edge technologies to enhance governance and
citizen participation. Eventually, this system seeks to empower citizens, reinforce
democratic processes, and advance more inclusive and effective policy outcomes for
sustainable development. The project will benefit the following:
Local Government Unit (LGU) and Policymakers
This research may help the LGUs and policymakers to formulate a community -
based policy recommendation on the basis of public sentiment in real time. Through
analyzing community opinions, the LGU can determine urgent concerns, measure the
effectiveness of current policies, and craft more responsive and targeted interventions.
This system promotes transparency in governance, enhances public trust, and
guarantees that policies respond to the real needs and sentiments of the people.
Community
This research will benefit the community by providing a systematic platform
where individuals may voice their opinions and concerns about policies. This enhances
higher civic participation and inclusivity in decision-making, ensuring that different
sectors' voices are heard. It also have a reward system that can be used making
governance more participatory and responsive to the voice of the people.
Researchers
This research will benefit the researcher by gaining a valuable tool for analyzing
public sentiment and its correlation with policy preferences. This system allows them to
refine existing recommendation systems and advance data analysis methodologies,
providing deeper insights into how community opinions can inform and improve policy
development.
Future Researchers
Future researchers can develop further on this system to increase its accuracy,
usability, and application in other areas. They can investigate the improvement of
sentiment analysis algorithms, incorporate new technologies such as machine learning,
and widen its application to other areas of policymaking aside from policymaking. This
