Reflection Paper
In all honesty, I have realized many things while working on this mini-lesson plan.
Even if it was a mini-lesson plan, but not going to lie, it was not easy to accomplish. Now,
I truly understand the hardwork and great efforts that teachers put into carefully planning
their entire class sessions. Nevertheless, I have learned a lot from this given task. I have
reflected that a lesson plan is indeed very useful for teachers as it serves as a guide to
ensure that the class becomes effective and successful. It’s true that teachers are not just
educators—sometimes, they become engineers too. The lesson plan that acts as a
blueprint to them, helping to prepare everyone for the discussion, improve the flow of the
lesson, and make the class more engaging and creative.
There are many modalities available for teaching that was discussed, but in my
opinion, face-to-face classes remain the most effective for me. This is because they allow
for physical interaction and connection between the teacher and students. The teacher is
better able to focus on areas where they may fall short in delivering the lesson and
imparting knowledge. Additionally, they can immediately address any questions or
concerns that may arise during the session unlike other modalities. As for teaching
strategies, I considered three approaches — cooperative learning, inquiry-based learning,
and scaffolding. All of these strategies are something I envision myself using in the future.
Incorporating cooperative learning would foster collaboration and teamwork among
students. This approach helps in building stronger connections and more effective
communication inside the classroom atmosphere. Secondly, one of my favorites is
inquiry-based learning. Not simply because it encourages students to ask questions, but
more so because it helps them generate their own ideas—ideas I may not have even
considered, which in turn allows me to learn from them as well. Lastly, the scaffolding
that allows the teacher to provide structured support to students as they progress through
the learning process. Through scaffolding, learners build confidence and deepen their
understanding, making the learning experience both more accessible and more
meaningful. All the strategies I mentioned are not only strengthening the students' mind
but also gradually encourages them for mastering the concept through continuous
guidance of us—future teachers.
