Issue:
How to setup Layouts in template drawing in AutoCAD

Solution:
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
1. Create a new drawing from one of the standard templates, which fits to the purpose
of use for the drawing. for example:
· In AutoCAD, use: [Link] (Metric), [Link] (English)
· In AutoCAD LT, use: [Link] (Metric), [Link] (English)
The default location for these files (depending on the product) is either in:
(example: AutoCAD 2020 English)

C:\Users\<<USER>>\AppData\Local\Autodesk\AutoCAD
2020\R23.1\enu\Template\

or
(example: AutoCAD MEP 2020 English)

C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\MEP 2020\enu\Template\

2. Click on one of the available layout names on the lower left corner of the drawing
to change its setting as needed. Or click the (+) plus-sign next to it to create a new
layout from scratch.

3. Once on a layout page. Right-click its title (layout name) and choose Page Setup
Manager. The manager dialog will appear, with the name of the current layout
selected in the list.
4. Click the Modify... button. The Page Setup dialog for that specific Layout will appear.

5. Adjust the settings as need. Mainly it is important that:

· Printer/Plotter is set to the correct plotter.
· Paper size is set correctly.
· Plot style table is selected correctly
· Plot area is defined as Layout.
· Plot Scale is set to 1:1 (by default).

6. Click OK to save the changes to the page layout.

7. Click Close on the Page Setup Manager to finish the setup.
8. Create the border line and title block object as needed.

9. Click on the created Viewport object and select the appropriate display scale for it
from the status bar, Viewport Scale fly-out menu.
