Day 28

The report details a laboratory activity conducted by a group of students from Don Honorio Ventura State University on March 22, 2025, focusing on testing the compressive strength of concrete samples. Out of three samples tested, two met the minimum required compressive strength for Class AA. The total cost for the testing was 225 pesos, which was shared among the six group members.

1 At 11:30am, we went to the Unified Geotest

Laboratory – the construction materials
testing located in Sindalan, San Fernando,
Pampanga. We arrived at the testing
laboratory at 1:00pm.

2 Before they test the compressive strength of

our samples, we fill up form about the name
of our project, location which is our
university, clients which are the members,
the class type of the concrete and age in
days being cured.

3 After filling out the form, we proceed to

testing. They test it one by one. The first
sample result is 3505psi, it reaches the
minimum compressive strength of Class AA.
It has a shear wedge fracture.

4 The second sample result is 3316psi.

Unfortunately, it didn’t hit the minimum psi
needed. It has a shear wedge just like the
first sample.

5 The third and last sample result is 3799psi. It

reaches above the required minimum psi. It
has a shear wedge fracture, similar to the
first and second sample. To sum up, 2 out of
3 of our samples cured for 28 days passed
the compressive strength test.

6 After testing the 3 samples, we proceed to

the cashier to pay. It cost 75 pesos each
sample so we pay 225 for the testing. We
divided it into 6, so each member contributed
38 pesos. After few minutes they gave us the
hard copy of the test report.
