HERITAGE; Refer to the traditions,customs,values,artefacts and history passed down from

previous generation within a community,family or [Link] include tangible aspects,as well as


intangible elements,like language and tradition.

HERITAGE SITE; These are special locations which recognised for their
cultural,historical,scientific or natural significance which are protected due to their importance
to a community ,nation or humanity as a [Link] ancient mountains,historical
buildings,natural landscapes,archaeological sites or areas of ecological [Link] well-
know heritage sites are designed as UNESCO World Heritage sites highlighting their values to
global heritage and ensuring their values to global hertage and ensuring their preservation for
future generation.

The following are the values of six world heritage sites found in Tanzania:-

NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA(NCA); This is the heritage site which is


found in the northern Tanzania was disiginated a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979 due to
the exception of natural and cultural [Link] is the unique because it includes iconic
NGORONGORO CREATER, the largest intact caldera in the world .This deserve ecosystem
ranging from grasslands and forest to [Link] in Ngorongoro creature it is support a
remarkable concentration of wildlife because human being are live together with wild animals
including Big five animals and maasai people they live together and this area is a critical
migration route for [Link] is the hertage site because it's values,requering
protection and substainable important as a place of outstanding global managment ensure it's
legacy endures;

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK; IS located in Northern Tanzania, is one of the most
famous and significant wildlife conservation area in the [Link] was designated a UNESCO
World Heritage Site in 1981 due to its ecological importance, unique biodiverity and cultural
[Link] is unique because Serengeti hosts the Great Wildbeest Migration. This annual
events sees million of wildbeest,zebras and other animals traverse the Serengeti in search of
water and grazing [Link] migration follows a circular rout of about 1,800 miles between
Tanzania and [Link] wildbeest they move in search of fresh pastures and water, driven by
seasonal [Link] the timeline of the migration of the wildbeest is located in December(The
wildbeeest gather in the southern Serengeti and ndutu areas within the ngorongoro conservation
area), April to June(Heards to move northwest towards the Grumeti River in the western
Serengeti), July to October (They cross into Kenya's Maasai Mara famously navigating the
crocodile- infested Mara River)and November (The herds return to the Serengeti plainas the
cycle begins again).This migration attracts thousands of visitors annually contibuting
significantly to Tanzania.

KILIMANJARO NATIONAL PARK; This is the among of the heritage sites which
found in Northern Tanzania is UNESCO World Heritage site renowed for for breath taking
natural beuty and cultural significance. The park is home to mount Kilimanjaro, ls a free
standing mountain in African's highest peak and one of the most iconic mountains globaly
standing at 5,895 metters above sea [Link] mountain has inspired explores , writers and
adventures wordlwide making it a symbol of achivement and this mountain is attracts thousands
of visitors which icrease the foreign currency but also it contain the ices despite being located
near the equator, Kilimanjaro's high altitude creates a frigid environment where snow and ice can
exist.

KONDOA ROCK-ART SITES; Is the significant UNESCO World Heritage site located
in the Kondoa Distict of cental Tanzania .This site is near Kondoa town,about kilometers away
and can be reached by road from Dodoma,Tanzania capital city with ancient rock paintings
found in natuaral shelters on the Kondoa Irangi [Link] painting are very old,some over 2,000
years and they show how people lived in the [Link] paintings or pictures they show how
people hunting,dancing and doing rituals as well as [Link] were made using natural
colours which are red,orche and white pigments and they offer varuable insight into the
cultural,social and spiritual lives of those ancient [Link] despections of animals,especially
antelope,elephants and giraffes as well as human figures,suggest a deep connection between the
communiacation and surrounding environment. So the Kondoa Rock Art site is a remarkable
and invaluable cultural hertage site in Tanzania offering a glimpse into lives of ancient human
[Link] Kondoa Rock Art site not only deepens our understanding of human history but
also stands as testament to the creativity and resilience of ancient communities.

SELOUS GAME RESERVE; Is a largest Game reserve in East Africa which is found
in southern Tanzania and is recognized UNESCO as a World Heritage Site because of its larger
size,high biodiversity and relatively undisturbed natural landscapes. It is one of African's
biggest protected area, covering about 50,000 square kilometers. Have larger numbers og
elephants, black rhinoceros, cheetals, giraffes,hippopotamuses and crocodiles live in immense
sanctuary, which measures 50,000km2. Not only the park has a variety of vegetation zones,
ranging from dense thickets to open wooded grass lands has an exeptionally high variety of
habitats including Miombo woodlands, open grasslands and swamps, making it a valuable
laboratory for on-going ecological and biological processes but also in the selous there are low
human presence unlike other famous African reserve,hence selous has low human activity
which makes it an excellence destination.

RUINS OF KILWA KISIWANI AND RUINS OF SONGO MNARA; The ruins of
Kilwa Kisiwani and Songo Mnara are located along the Tanzania coast, are important historical
sites that show the rich history of the swahili [Link] towns were major trading
centres between the 19th and 16th centuries East. The played a key role in trading gold,ivory and
slaves for goods like porcelain and textiles.

Kilwa Kisiwani, an islands settlement was the more powerful of the two. It is famous for its
Great Mosque,one of the oldest in East Africa, and the Husuni kubwa, a grand palace with over
100 [Link] Fort Gereza, built by the Portuguese and later used by Omanis, add to its
historical significance . Nearby Songo Mnara was a smaller town, but it also had impressive
features like coral stone houses, mosques and tombs, showing the wealth and sophistication of
its. Together, these site show the cultural, arclitectural and economic achivements of the swahili
[Link] are UNESCO World Heritage Sites preserved for their importance in telling the
story of African's connection to the rest of the World through trade and culture. However, they
face challenges like erosion and efforts are needed to protect them for future generation.

IN CONLUSSION; Tanzania's World Heritage Site are a true reflection of the country's rich
cultural history and natural [Link] the places like Serengeti, Mountain
Kilimanjaro,Ngorongoro and Kilwa Kisiwani are important for Tanzania and the [Link] only

attract the visitors from all over the world but also serve as symbols of Tanzania's commitment
to preserving its hertage. Taking care of those sites will allow future generation to enjoy and
learn from them.
