1 INT.OFFICE - DAY 1
A bustling workplace. Newcomers gather around a senior employee,
curious about a very mysterious employee.
PERSON 1
Hey, so who is that person? He barely talks
to anyone.
SENIOR
(hesitates, glancing around)
You don’t wanna know… he had…
(He stops abruptly as ADIVIKRAM, a quiet
and weary employee, and walks past. The
senior gestures to continue later)
PERSON 1
What was that about?
SENIOR
(whispers)
I’ll tell you some other time.
2 INT. ADIVIKRAM'S APARTMENT - NIGHT 2
A modest apartment, Adivkram comes to his apartment Just while before
unlocking his door and entering his house, he places 2 rupees in a Jar
and watches the corridor where he came from for 15 seconds. Adivikram
opens the door and enters his house, just after he comes, he stares at
his sofa for 20 seconds, showing no emtions. He freshens up, while
changing his clothes, he catches the sight of his scar—evidence of the
stitches from his surgery, a lasting reminder of his truncus
arteriosus., The whole house echoes with Adivikram’s presence—his
activities filling every corner, accompanied only by silence. After
cooking a very simple, little nutritious food, Adivikram goes to the
balcony looking at the moon. While looking at it, he eats and also
spills the food besides him, but never notices. He then makes up his
bed and sleeps. The routine continues for 4 days.
3 INT. ADIVIKRAM'S APARTMENT - NIGHT 3
After coming back to his house after his daiy routine at night, it was
time to sleep. Adivikram closed his eyes with his both hands being
cold. There was a dream which really took place 6 years ago. The same
house, but this time it was different. The atmosphere was filled with
love, laughter and warmth. Adivikram was blessed with a loving wife
Meghana and one wonderful daughter Jeevitha. One day Adi came to his
house after finishing work, he watched as his wife ran after their son,
struggling to feed him while he playfully refused to eat. He watched
them smilingly.
ADIVIKRAM
(coughs)
JEEVITHA
(stops running)
Appa!!
(runs towards adivirkam)
2
ADIVIKRAM
(lifts jeevitha)
Hey Jeevi! How was your day!
MEGHANA
Hello, Her Highness hasn’t eaten her lunch
which I packed for her today and she is also
refusing to eat! Ask that first!
JEEVITHA
(looks at Adivikram)
Appa who eats pongal for lunch? By the time I
open the luchbox to eat it’ll be too dried
and will take the shape of the lunch box.
That’s why I didn’t eat.
MEGHANA
(Lifts her hand as if she is going to
hit her)
Mistress! This is not your restaurant for you
to choose what you want to eat every day.
ADIVIKRAM
Okay okay, enough. Hey jeevi, come here
(He takes Jivita to window and pointing
out to moon)
You see that moon? Do you want that?
JEEVITHA
Impossible! Can you even get that?
ADIVIKRAM
Yes! But I don’t think it is for you to get.
JEEVITHA
Why? Why not?
ADIVIKRAM
Because there is only one way to get it
JEEVITHA
(Curious & Ambigious)
Tell me! I'll do anything!
ADIVIKRAM
Eat. Eating whatever your mother gives you.
With each bite of your dinner, breakfast and
lunch, the moon comes closer to you.
JEEVITHA
(turns back)
Maa! Serve me the dinner quickly
MEGHANA
(while serving to Rohan)
You and your daughter
(sighs)
ADIVIKRAM
(scoffs in amusement)
Look at the moon and eat. You should feel as
3
if the moon is coming closer to you.
4 INT. ADJACENT ROOM - NIGHT 4
While all these moments were filled with happiness and love, these
moments did not last long. There was another dark side which was
bothering both Adivikram and Meghana. Their small argumental fights
came to light. In the adjacent room, the sounds of argumental mumblings
could be heard
MEGHANA
We can’t keep living like this Adi.
ADIVIKRAM
(pleading)
I am trying! I have been requesting the
manager to promote me. Let’s see what’ll
happen.
MEGHANA
(scoffs)
That doesn’t help us a bit. Our daughter
thinks we are rich! She asked me today who
eats pongal for lunch right? With what face
shall I tell her that she’s been taking left
over food in the name of lunch. We are low on
financial terms too, barely making something
out of this house which isn’t even ours. We
still have some pending balance to pay off
the rent.
ADIVIKRAM
(Squeezes both of his eyes with his two
fingers in one hand in sorrow)
You could have told me, I would ha....
MEGHANA
No Adi, you couldn’t have done anything, upon
given situation. When I first met you in the
college, I know you would be a great husband
but, unfortunately, I didn’t have the
maturity to realize that you wouldn’t be a
good father
ADIVIKRAM
(Keeps both his hands on his forehead)
Look I’m trying hard!
MEGHANA
I’m sorry Adi, my mother told me that I’m
still young and...
ADIVIKRAM
What are you even saying? Are you even
listening to yourself? We have a daughter!
MEGHANA
That’s exactly what I’m saying. I’m not doing
this for myself. But for our daughter. I hope
you understand Adivikram. You can visit our
4
daughter on weekends.
Adivikram couldn’t believe what was happening, thinking how could he
live without his child, his wife and his small happy family? He blinked
his eyes to let down the tears fall. When he opened his eyes, he was in
the present timeline. He often used to see his family photo with a
broken frame and his wife’s new family with a silver plated and clean
fence symbolising both broken marriage and happy marriage. Hence, he
carried on with his usual routine
5 INT/EXT. ADIVIKARAM APARTMENT - DAY 5
Adivikram comes after his usual routine, but this time when he enters
his house and locks the door, there are 4 people sitting at the sofa,
staring at adivikram with a dull look. An 8-year-old boy, a couple, and
an old woman at her 70s. This scene wasn’t scary to adivikram because
he had been seeing them all this time. Adivikram washed his face,
freshens up, takes the newspaper and sits down to read. After 12
minutes, His both hands lost the grip of the newspaper, falling down to
his lap, while the newspaper fell down. He died After 4 days the
landlord came in and knocked at the door as it was time to collect the
rent, but no answer. He took out the spare key and rushed inside only
to find out that Adivikram is nowhere to be found. Landlord was very
much confused
6 INT. ADIVIKARAM APARTMENT - DAY 6
2 years later, a new tenant moves in. 21-year-old Karthik. After
checking out the whole house, he was happy with the space he got. He
started to casually negotiate the rent price with the landlord
KARTHIK
(thinking in his mind)
Okay, 23000 as a rent is not bad as it
sounds.
LANDLORD
Well? Shall we finalize the deal?
KARTHIK
Yes sir, it is fine by me.
LANDLORD
Okay, sir let me give you the rent papers
tomorrow, till then freshen up and let me
give you the keys now.
KARTHIK
Thank you so much sir!
7 INT. ADIVIKARAM APARTMENT - NIGHT 7
He took the keys from the landlord, he finally started unpacking his
things out to settle in his new house. He then decides to go for the
walk at evening. After he is done with walking, just about to enter his
house, he notices the jar just in corner of his door outside. He picks
it up and takes a look. He then notices that there’s only one 2 rupees
coin in there. He opens the jar lid and takes the coin. He unlocks his
door and comes inside and leaves his laptop bag in the sofa. He then
gets a call from his colleague regarding about his work, just when he
5
thought about the bag, he goes to the drawing room to get his laptop.
There are again people in the sofa, but this time, there was 5 people.
An old lady, couple, an 8-year-old and ADIVIKRAM! Karthik’s body
trembles, feet start to sweat when he steps back a bit, his eyes glow
up in fear and his lips starts to dry faster. He heard a TING sound; it
was the jar that was tripped. He looked at the jar and when he turned
back at the sofa, was nobody there. He didn’t know what was happening.
He was going to the kitchen as he wanted to drink some water but there
was a girly voice saying
JEEVITHA (O.S.)(V.O)
Appa, the moon has come, i am hungry feed me
Karthik sweats profusely upon hearing the girl’s voice, just as he was
about to see the girl – the scene blacks out with the sound of the of
coin entering inside the jar
