Answer: The child refused to take his favourite things in the fair after losing his
parents because now he was overwhelmed with fear and panic. His only thought
was of his parents and he had lost interest in everything else including all the
things that he wanted to have earlier.

Qu. 2. What was the child’s response to the many offers made by the man?

Answer: The child simply wailed inconsolably. In between his sobs, he


expressed his desire to be with his mother and father. He refused to even glance
at the various things offered by the man in an attempt to quieten him.
