We had the incredible opportunity to attend the Business Fair titled "Estudyante Negosyante:
Building , Shaping the Future" at Siena College Hingaroy on Marh 21, 2025. This event served as a
fantastic learning experience for all of us. It allowed us to meet and listen to professionals who
generously shared their experiences and insights about the world of business. Their talks not only
gave us a deeper understanding of what it truly takes to be a successful business owner but also
inspired us to think critically about our own potential as entrepreneurs in the future.

The event started with an introduction to the importance of creativity in business. We were
told that one of the main factors for any business to grow is offering something unique, something
that stands out from the competition. The speakers emphasized the idea that businesses that fail to
differentiate themselves often struggle to stay relevant. As a result, we were encouraged to think
innovatively about the products or services we could offer that would appeal to potential customers.
It was clear from their presentations that being original and creative is essential if we want to attract
attention in a crowded market.

Additionally, we learned that it’s not just about having a good product but also about how
you manage the business. The speakers shared valuable tips on how to effectively manage a
business, attract customers, and make it profitable. They highlighted the importance of
understanding your market and knowing what your customers want. Without a deep understanding
of the market, any business no matter how creative its products are can easily fail. They reminded
us that running a business also means providing quality services and maintaining strong customer
relationships. Customer service was discussed as a crucial element in business success, as it’s often
the key to keeping customers loyal and satisfied.

One of the most insightful talks was delivered by Ms. Genalyn Rodriguez, the owner of
Genashin Banana Chips. She shared her journey and explained how crucial it is to conduct market
research before starting a business. Ms. Rodriguez spoke in detail about how understanding
customer preferences, analyzing competitors, and staying on top of market trends helped her make
informed decisions for her business. She emphasized that research is the foundation for building a
successful business, as it provides the data necessary to create effective strategies and determine
which products will be in demand. Her advice to always be prepared and plan ahead made us
realize that starting a business without proper research can lead to failure, no matter how passionate
or well-intentioned the business owner may be.
Mr. Jay Percival Ablan also gave a thought-provoking presentation about the distinction
between entrepreneurs and businessmen. According to Mr. Ablan, entrepreneurs are those who
create innovative ideas and introduce original products or services to the market. They are often
risk-takers, driven by the excitement of creating something new. On the other hand, businessmen
generally work with existing products and services, focusing on improving sales and expanding the
market. His talk made us reflect on the differences in approach between the two types of
individuals and encouraged us to think about which path we would prefer to take. The takeaway
from his session was that entrepreneurs often face greater risks, but they also have the potential for
greater rewards, as they are offering something new and unique to the market.

Another engaging speaker, Ms. Elviza Balmaceda from PC Collection, spoke about the
importance of sales skills. She explained that being a successful salesperson involves much more
than just knowing your product; it ’ s about understanding your customers and being able to
persuade them effectively. She taught us that strong sales skills can significantly contribute to the
growth of a business. Good salespeople don ’ t just sell products —they build relationships with
customers, understand their needs, and help solve their problems through their products. Her advice
on becoming a "Sales Pro" was one of the most valuable lessons of the event, as it highlighted how
essential it is to connect with customers on a deeper level to keep them coming back.

Finally, Ms. Sheila Mae Clarete from Matrobank shared her expertise on personal finance
and business savings. She spoke about the importance of saving money, not only for personal
security but also for business growth. By saving and investing wisely, business owners can secure
their future and have access to important financial services. Ms. Clarete stressed that having good
financial management skills is crucial for any business to thrive. She also discussed how banks and
other financial institutions can help entrepreneurs with resources like loans and investment
opportunities. Her session taught us the importance of financial planning and how it plays a key
role in the long-term success of a business.

The seminar itself was both educational and engaging. Throughout the event, we had the
opportunity to explore various creative products showcased at the fair. This hands-on experience
inspired us to think about the kinds of businesses we might want to start ourselves. Seeing such
innovation firsthand allowed us to see the potential for creativity and entrepreneurship in the real
world. It also made us realize that there are endless possibilities when it comes to launching a
business, as long as we are willing to think outside the box and take calculated risks.

The personal stories shared by the speakers gave us a clearer picture of the challenges and
rewards that come with entrepreneurship. These professionals were not only successful in their
fields, but they also taught us the importance of resilience. Many of them shared moments of failure,
yet they showed us how they persevered, learned from their mistakes, and eventually succeeded.
This was a powerful lesson for all of us, as it reminded us that failure is not the end but an
important part of the learning process.
In conclusion, attending the Business Fair was an incredibly valuable experience for us. We
gained knowledge and confidence that will guide us in pursuing our own business ideas in the
future. The lessons we learned about market research, creativity, and the importance of persistence
will serve as a solid foundation for our future endeavors. The event also reminded us that becoming
a successful business owner takes time, effort, and the willingness to take risks and learn from
mistakes. By applying the knowledge and skills we gained at the fair, we are now better prepared to
face the challenges that come with starting and running a business.

We also learned that in order to truly succeed in the world of business, we must
continuously improve ourselves and adapt to the ever-changing market. We now understand the
significance of building strong relationships with customers, staying innovative, and managing
finances effectively. With the lessons from this fair, we feel inspired and motivated to pursue our
entrepreneurial dreams. We are excited to contribute to the growth of our community through our
future businesses and make a positive impact in the world of entrepreneurship. With creativity,
determination, and the valuable knowledge we have gained, we are ready to take the first step on
our journey to becoming successful business owners.
