Required Service Tools

In order to provide the best service to the


end user, you should keep the following
items in your shop:
„ VPL-1 – Our basic programming cable. This cable
programs most of our models with various adaptors to fit
each model. It connects to your computer via COMM
Port1.
„ FIF-10A – This is our newer programming cable that
programs most of our models with various adaptors to fit
each model. The FIF-10A uses your computers USB
port.
Required Service Tools
Many new computers do not come with comm ports
unless specifically requested. All come with USB
ports now. The FIF-10A is not a USB to serial port
(comm port) adaptor. Those types of adaptors have
proven to be only 50% reliable.
If you have only a USB port, use the FIF-10A. It is a
true USB device.
Also, the FIF-10A is capable of updating firmware as
well. This eliminates the need for a separate
firmware writer (and power supply)
