Handout 4: Teacher and learner activities in a Global Perspectives
lesson
Here we see one way to approach a Global Perspectives lesson, and the teacher activities at each stage of the
lesson. This is a two-sided handout.
Training activity:
1. Complete Column 3, Learner activity, with what the learners might be doing at this point in the lesson.
2. Using the learning objectives framework, identify the skills that learners are developing during each activity.
3. Discuss this example of how to approach a Global Perspectives lesson using active learning. How far does it
match the statements about the role of the teacher in Handout 3?
4. Are there any steps you would add?
5. Are there any steps you would miss out?
6. Think about how you could adapt this approach to use with your own learners.
