THE SULTANATE OF OMAN

The national flag of Oman
consists of three horizontal
stripes of white, red, and
green, The vertical section
containing the coat of arms
features two crossed khanjars
(traditional daggers) and a
belt, which represent Oman's
history and its warrior culture.

● White:Represents peace and prosperity.


● Red: Symbolizes the bloodshed in the struggle for
independence and the unity of the Omani people.
● Green: Stands for the country's rich heritage and
the fertility of the land.
Geographical Location

Oman is located on the


southeastern coast of
the Arabian Peninsula in
Western Asia.

It shares land borders with the United Arab


Emirates on the northwest.It is boarded on the
northeast by Iran.It borders Yemen on the south.It
is bordered by the Arabian Sea to the southeast
and Saudi Arabia to the west.
● A gravel desert plain covers
most of central Oman, with
mountain ranges along the
north (Hajar Mountains)
and southeast coast (Dhofar
Mountains)

● Oman has a subtropical,


dry climate with summer
monsoons and hot, dusty
winds.
PEOPLE OF OMAN
● Oman is a hereditary monarchy, and power is
concentrated in the hands of the sultan.
● The citizen of Oman are called Omani/s
● Religion:95.9% of Oman's population is
Muslim, with slightly over 45% following Sunni
Islam, and around 45% Ibadi Islam, with the
other 5% identifying as Shia Muslims.

Oman has a population of about


5,281,538 million as of 2024, which is a
4.60% population increase from 2023. It is
the 123rd most-populous country.
Economic Activities

Oman is heavily dependent on oil and


gas resources, which can generate
between and 68% and 85% of
government revenue, depending on
fluctuations in commodity prices.Fishing
and trading activities located around its
coastal regions.
● According to Royal Decree No.
114/2011, issued on 26th October
2011, The administrative division of
Oman contains eleven governorates
(muhafazat), and within the
governorates, Oman is sub-divided
into 61 provinces (wilayat).
