Xorcom Rapid Recovery™ User Guide

The Xorcom Rapid Recovery (XRR) is a unique accessory


that can back up the Xorcom XR1000, XR2000 and XR3000
IP-PBX on a USB Disk-on-Key (DOK). It enables simple, safe
and speedy recovery of Xorcom’s IP-PBX solutions,
including configuration files, voice prompts and even
voice mail.1

Instructions
1. Connect a monitor and keyboard to the IP-PBX.
2. Power on the IP-PBX while pressing the F2 key. The BIOS setup screen will appear.
3. From BIOS setup choose:
a. Legacy USB support: EnableUSB boot: Enable
b. Boot USB Devices First: Enable
4. Connect the XRR to the USB port of your IP-PBX.
5. Boot the IP-PBX. The system will boot from the XRR disk-on-key
6. The first option screen (Figure 1) appears:

Choose the first option or just wait (after 5 seconds the system will start to load the XRR
software).
7. The second menu (Figure 2) appears:

By default, logs, voicemail and call recording files are not backed up, but can be marked for inclusion in the

8. To create the backup:


a. Choose the “Backup” menu option.
b. Define a descriptive name for the backup file:

c. Choose the target for the backup.


d. Backup your system (depending on the configuration you have selected, the backup will
consume about 0.5 GB and will take a few minutes).
9. To restore:
a. Choose the “Restore” menu option.
b. Choose the appropriate backup file.

c. Restore your system.


10. After backup or restore, go back to BIOS setup and restore the original settings:
a. Legacy USB support: Disable
b. USB boot: Disable
c. Boot USB Devices First: Disable

Notes
It is possible to keep several IP-PBX backups on the same DOK. Each backup is saved as a
separate folder under the DOK 'backup' folder. You can delete the folder if you don't need a
particular backup anymore.
