Positive
 Quick Healer -8K
 Ambidextrous – 4K
 Built tough (R4) – 16k

Negative
 Honorbound +10 K (See Bushido Code)
o You have a code. You live by the code. You die by the code. There are many codes, each with a set of tenets that must be
obeyed to maintain the balance in your soul, heart, qi, brain chemistry, etc.
o • Bonus: 10 Karma
o • Game Effect: You cannot spend or earn Edge for twenty-four hours after you break a ten et of your code. If the same
tenet is broken multiple times or broken again during the twenty-four hour period, each infraction adds another forty-
eight hours onto the ini tial twenty-four. If a different tenet is bro ken, it’s twenty-four hours for that one add ed to any
current infractions, and the same rules apply for additional violations. See the Honorbound sidebar for some sample
codes and tenets.
 Sinner +8K
o Unlike a lot of runners, who have either no SIN or a criminal SIN, you have a legitimate
SIN that links back to biometric data. You have enough attachment to it, whether for
your own or family purposes, that you can’t just burn it.
o Game Effect: You pay taxes to the issuer of your SIN, either a megacorporation or a
nation. This cost comes as a 10 percent in crease in the cost of the lifestyle associated
with this SIN. Due to data within the Global SIN Regis try, you are easier to track or
identify, giving opponents a point of Edge every time they attempt a Trace Icon action
against you.
Code of the Oathbound

1. Righteousness → "The Anvil Stands True."

o You believe in doing what is right, not just what is easy or profitable.
o They never break a contract once accepted.
o They may take jobs that align with their morals (e.g., protecting the weak,
stopping corporate cruelty).
2. Courage → "Face the Fire, Forge the Blade."
o A warrior must face danger without hesitation or cowardice.
o They do not run from a fight if it means protecting allies or fulfilling an oath.
3. Compassion → "Strength is meant to shield, not just strike."
o Despite being a hardened fighter, they believe in helping the downtrodden.
o They might have a soft spot for orphans, SINless, or injured runners.
o Perhaps they offer free protection to a small community in exchange for
nothing but respect.
4. Respect → "Give respect, earn respect."
o They treat allies, enemies, and even corporate suits with formal courtesy—until
disrespected.
o They do not kill needlessly or dishonor fallen foes.
o They avoid senseless cruelty, even in a brutal world.
5. Honesty → "A promise is stronger than steel."
o Lies are dishonorable. If they say they will do something, they follow through.
o They might refuse jobs that require deception, or at least despise doing so.
6. Honor → "The only wealth that cannot be stolen."
o Their reputation means everything.
o They do not break their personal code, even for a high-paying job.
o Betrayal is unforgivable. Someone who dishonors them may be marked for
death.
7. Loyalty → "A brother’s shield is never cast aside."
o They are fiercely protective of their team, fixer, or a specific group (e.g., fellow
dwarves, a street family, an old war unit).
o If they swear an oath, they stick to it—no matter what.
o They may take vengeance on those who betray them or their allies.
8. Self-Control→ "A warrior’s blade must be steady."
o They do not let anger, greed, or recklessness control them.
o They avoid pointless bloodshed, excess drinking, or uncontrolled rage.

Possible Background Ideas

1. Ex-Corporate Security / Samurai

o Trained in combat by a corporate security force that valued Bushido (Shiawase,
Renraku, or a private military contractor).
o Disillusioned by corporate corruption, they now follow true honor, not the
twisted version corps peddle.
o May still wear high-end armor, old dog tags, or a traditional katana as a
symbol of their past.
2. Dwarven Clan Warrior with a Modern Twist
o Raised in a traditional dwarven community where oaths, honor, and clan loyalty
were sacred.
o Perhaps learned Bushido from an older warrior mentor, a ronin, or an ancient
book.
o Their code merges dwarven tradition with Bushido—forging a unique
personal philosophy.
3. Street Samurai of the Barrens
o Grew up in the Redmond Barrens or another slum, where loyalty and respect
were survival tools.
o Learned discipline through martial training (maybe under an old, retired
Yakuza enforcer or a cyber-monk).
o Sees the street as a battlefield, but one where order and honor must be upheld.
