INTERPRETATION 2: PRE-COURSE TASKS

TASK 1: INDIVIDUAL WORK (30 minutes)

- Watch this video clip, particularly from 7minutes 55 seconds onwards:

- Take notes on the skills and strategies mentioned in the video: active
listening, understanding, discourse analysis, public speaking,
reformulating, and avoid temptation of literal interpretation, abstracting,
summarizing, paraphrasing, anticipation.
- Reflection: Did you use these skills in Interpretation 1? If yes, how? If
no, why not?

TASK 2: GROUP WORK (30 minutes)

- Work in groups of three. Take turns and practise interpreting part of ONE
of the following:
