User’s manual
This guide is intended for i 40 BS indicator users. It
allows mastering the equipment quickly. For electrical
connection and installation, refer to the following manuals:
• Wiring diagram: 04-55-01 DD
• Installation manual: 04-55-01 MI

Safety

For devices connected through a power outlet, the


NF EN 60 950 standard requires to have this outlet installed
close to the equipment and easily accessible. For equipment
connected permanently to mains, an easily accessible cut-off
device must be included to the permanent installation.

The menu options or parameters are noted:

In this manual, the functions are all executed in OPERATOR mode, the notations are
abbreviated as follows:
• OPTION 1 / OPTION 2... / PARAMETER

 Recommendations
For optimum accuracy and equipment preservation::
• Do not submit the indicator and scale to shocks or overloads
• Do not store any load on the instrument unload it as soon as weighing is complete.
• Never use solvents or abrasives for cleaning.

Overview
 Keyboard

Function

+ Restart Press and hold these keys to restart the indicator.

 Escape
Escape a menu or the input without having it taken
into account.

 Configuration mode
Keep this key pressed during power-up or reboot
to access configuration mode.

 Validation
Input in a menu or take into account the current
input.


 Arrow keys
Navigating the menu or list options
Indication < > in the help area.

 Zero

 Metrology Allows accessing the Metrological screen.

 Printing
In operating mode, allows you to print the given
batch.

In these indicator versions, the navigation keys are combined with three function keys:

 Navigation principle
• The navigation keys allow moving in menus and lists of predefined values. They
are active when the symbols < > are displayed in zone 3 of the screen (See
“Screen”, page 6.):

 1. Scroll through the options at the same level (or possible
values).

 2. Validate the selected option (or the selected value).

• In the same case for the consultation of recorded values:

 Scroll through the displayed information.

• Entering an alphanumeric value:

 1. Access the previous or next position in the string to


be entered.

 2. Enter a character: Select the next or previous


character in alphabetical order (or numeric).

• In case of navigation error:

 Exit a menu, a section or option (up one level).

• Reach the store option (configuration mode):

Back to the configuration top level menu to reach the


 storage option.
Press the key repeatedly, if necessary.

 Basic parameters

 Language
• PARAMETERS / LANGUUAGE
Choose English or French.

 Display unit
• PARAMETERS / DISPLAY / BRIGHTNESS adjusts the backlight intensity:
3 levels or extinction.
• PARAMETERS / DISPLAY / COLOUR sets the background colour of the
screen: 7 possible colours.

Operator functions
 Introduction
The operator functions are available when the indicator is powered on.

 Power up


1. The instrument performs a self-test. 
Check the proper display operation (no

defective segment). 888

2. The software version is displayed.


3. The self-test is complete, the instrument
initialises the measurement and it is ready for 

 Menu for Resetting to zero
This menu allows you to perform various resets to zero according to the needs of the
user; it is accessible by pressing the  key.

 Zero User
The user zero function allows, when the belt speed is greater than 0 and the weight is
displayed below the taring threshold, to ensure the instrument is Reset.

1. Once in the Reset menu, select ZERO using


the directional keys.

2. Validate using key R. < >

3. There are two possibilities:


• Display an error message if zero is not
possible.

 NO SPEED

• Display the percentage of error.





 Global Reset
The Global Reset can perform a reset of all totalizers as well for the batch.

1. Once in the Reset menu, select GLOBAL


RESET using the directional keys.

3. Once the user has validated his choice, the
device returns to the previous screen and the 
reset has been completed and all totalizers are
at zero. /h

 Partial Reset
This Reset can be made when the indicator power comes up. To do this, when powering
on, the user presses the key  until the equipment starts.

This zero is the reference to other reset devices.

1. Once in the Reset menu, select PARTIAL


RESET using the directional keys.

returns to the previous screen and the reset has 

 Metrological information
Metrological data can be viewed by pressing key  and they scroll one after the
other, screen by screen.

It includes:

Qmin Qmin Maximum flow passing on the belt.
Qmax Qmax Maximum flow through the tape.

Operator configuration
 Introduction
1. Rearm the device by Pressing keys  +  at the same time.

2. Then press key  at indicator power on or restart to access the operator


configuration.

 Parameter configuration
• DISPLAY
LOGIN/OPERATOR/APPLI/DISPLAY
This parameter allows the user to choose what information they want displayed by
default when powering on.

• MIN. THRESHOLD
(LOGIN/OPERATOR/APPLI/MIN THRESHOLD).
This parameter sets the minimum threshold value.

• MAX. THRESHOLD
(LOGIN/OPERATOR/APPLI/MAX THRESHOLD).
This parameter sets the maximum threshold value.

• FAULTS.
(LOGIN/OPERATOR/APPLI/FAULTS).
- COLOUR:
This parameter activates a colour when there is a fault.
- CHOICE:
This parameter allows choosing the colour when there is a fault.
This parameter is only active if the COLOUR parameter is active.

 Saving
When configuration parameters have been changed, the saving can be done in two
ways:
- going back to the highest level in the configuration menu:


 SAVE

The SAVE option screen is displayed for about 1s


and then the choice for validating the modified parameters

Alarms
 Managing the alarms
When a fault occurs, the lower part of the screen turns red:

1. Press key  to display the description of the


alarm.
