MATRIC REWRITE
Failing matric - do not feel depressed, hopeless and lonely. We are together and remember there is always
another chance. Approach us today and you will get to know the matric rewrite options we can offer you. We
help you identify what made you fail and make you pass in your second sitting. If you failed your Matric or you
have not done it before, Taal-Net is the best School for you.

Most professional companies in South Africa now require every employee to have at least a Matric
certificate. Such initiatives help employees to keep up to date with business and professional developments
leading to increased confidence and motivation. Having a Matric certificate improves chances of being
promoted at work and of getting better opportunities in the business world.

Good matric results further develop your 'employability' skills - transferable skills such as numeracy,
communication, information technology etc. and improve your earnings within the company and industry.

MATRIC
ENROLMENT
We therefore encourage all prospective learners to join our
Matric Rewrite class. Our Matric Rewrite classes are open
every month therefore one can register any time during the
course of the year. NCS exams are written in June whilst CAPS
exams are offered in November every year. All prospective
students are encouraged to communicate with the
administration office (through the numbers shown on the flier)
so that they meet the registration deadlines.

OUR
CLASSES
Our Matric Rewrite class focuses more on concept
comprehension, revision and examination couching. This gives
learners much assurance of passing their exams. We revisit
past examination questions analysing the papers together
with learners so that they learn the techniques and strategies
of tackling questions. Much time is devoted to those subjects
learners think they are difficult such as Mathematics, physical
science and Biology. Thorough revisions and practice is done
for these subjects.

The Matric Rewrite Examinations are written in the following months:

NSC : CAPS Rewrite –October / November
SC : CAPS – May / June
Technical Matric – April, July and November
Cambridge Rewrite – June and November
Subjects: Mathematics, English, Life Science, Physical Science, Business Studies, Afrikaans /
IsiZulu, Economics, Accounts, Maths Literacy, Geography, History (Fulltime only), Agricultural
Science (Exam Only)

TAAL-NET DISTANCE LEARNING
A form of education where there is physical distance between the student and the
instructor. The student does not attend traditional classes or lectures, but is free to
study from a location of his or her choice. Correspondence education can incorporate
self-study, virtual or online learning, assistance from instructors via instant
messaging/telephone/e-mail, as well as written assignments and examinations. Our
TVET courses can also be offered on distance learning basis.

WHAT ARE THE ADVANTAGES?

Benefits or advantages to Taal-Net distance learning. Some of these include the
following:
ŸIt increases access to education.
ŸStudents can study from home. They do not need to travel to classes, or relocate in
order to be closer to Taal-Net campus.
ŸIt gives people the opportunity to work and study at the same time. It is not
necessary to give up a full-time job in order to study via correspondence.
ŸStudents can determine the pace at which they study. They need not be held back
by other students, nor pressured by lecturers or fellow students.
ŸStudents can choose from a wider variety of courses, as they are not limited to
courses that are offered by institutions that are situated within travelling distance.
ŸThe distractions and temptations that come with campus life are absent.
ŸIt is often more affordable to study via correspondence than to enrol for
attendance-based courses.
ŸYou can study with Taal-Net from anywhere in South Africa

IS TAAL-NET DISTANCE LEARNING A GOOD CHOICE FOR ME?

While there are many advantages to studying via distance learning, this form of
education is better suited to some people than to others. Taal-Net Distance learning
could be the right choice for you if:
ŸYou are looking for a study option that offers flexibility.
ŸYou are self-disciplined and self-motivated.
ŸYou have good time management skills.
ŸYou can work independently.
ŸYou enjoy working at your own pace and setting your own goals.
ŸYou can resist distractions.
ŸYou have good reading and communication skill
ŸYou are already in the mainstream employment

CUSTOMER COMPLAINTS/COMPLIMENTS & SUGGESTIONS
The college handles all the customer complaints (from students, parents, visitors etc.) using a properly
documented Customer Service Procedure which ensures that fairness prevail all the time. The customer
Service Policy gives an indication of all the avenues that can be explored by different stakeholders in
dealing with different kinds of complaints All our reception areas for the study centres have complaints,
compliments and suggestion registers that are used to ensure that our leaner and stakeholder complaints
are addressed and that we build on what we are doing good as informed by our stakeholders through the
use of these registers.

HEALTH, SAFETY & WELLNESS

Taal-Net appreciates the importance of students” safety in a learning environment .Policy guidelines have
been put in place and communicated to assist learners on what needs to be done to observe safety
standards and the expectations in case of an emergency. The evacuation procedures are quite clear for
the understanding of learners across all levels of learning. The safety of people (students, employees,
visitors ) comes first.

It’s not only the body that needs to be protected from physical harm, but also the minds of our leaners need
to be considered. Learners go through a lot of things and experiences in their lives some of the experiences
will be for the first time. These changes and events justify the need for wellness initiatives at the college to
assist learners when it comes to social issues, academic issues and personal life challenges that affect our
students.

STUDENT / LEARNER SUPPORT

Taal-Net College is proud of experienced lecturers in various disciplines .Lectures assist in the areas of
correction & remedial academic interventions, instructional & academic progression, career guidance.
Students book appointments with lectures or it can happen the other way where Lecturers identify that the
learner needs help in a certain area then.
