Farmers for Forests (F4F) is seeking a full-time Python Developer.
The ideal
candidate will have strong back-end development skills, with a passion for
leveraging technology to address environmental challenges. As a Python
Developer, you will be responsible for developing robust back-end systems,
managing agroforestry data in the cloud, deploying machine learning
models, and supporting various data-related tasks.
About Us
F4F is a Hybrid Social Enterprise working to protect and increase India’s biodiverse
forest cover in close collaboration with rural communities. Founded in December
2019, F4F is one of the few organizations in India working in the forestry sector and
using a payment-for-ecosystem services model for its environmental protection and
restoration activities.
F4F was incubated at Mulago, Fast Forward, NSRCEL-IIMB, The Nudge Institute and
Shakti - The Empathy Project. Our work has been supported by several organizations
including Accenture, ACT Grants, Opus Software Solutions, Rainmatter Foundation
and Rohini Nilekani Philanthropies.
We have also featured on DW TV and Scroll's Eco India series as well as DW Hindi.
We have also been selected as one of India's top innovators working in the
ecosystem restoration and conservation sector by the World Economic Forum.
Responsibilities:
1. Implement and deploy machine learning models in cloud infrastructure,
enabling data-driven decision-making for ecosystem restoration efforts.
2. Develop and maintain back-end systems for managing agroforestry data,
ensuring robust, scalable, and secure infrastructure.
3. Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate back-end functionalities
with user interfaces, ensuring seamless data flow and usability.
4. Design and manage cloud-based databases for storing and analyzing
agroforestry data, leveraging services such as AWS or Azure.
5. Implement mechanisms for processing and analyzing drone-generated data,
ensuring data integrity and accessibility.
6. Contribute to any additional tasks related to back-end development and data
management as required by the project.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related
field.
2. Proficiency in Python and experience with back-end frameworks such as
Django or Flask.
3. 1 - 3 years of experience as a Python Developer or in a similar role, with a
strong portfolio of back-end development projects.
4. Experience with cloud platforms and services such as AWS (Amazon Web
Services) or Azure, including cloud storage, computing, and database services.
5. Familiarity with machine learning concepts and frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow,
scikit-learn) is a plus.
6. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a
collaborative team environment.
