Reflecting on the profession through a study conducted by Tacadena and Muico (2022).

Here are five reflective questions that could help you develop a deeper commitment to the

teaching profession and adherence to the Code of Ethics for Professional Teachers. Please

be guided by the material given.

1. Sense of Involvement on the Task at Hand

How can actively participating in school activities and collaborating with colleagues help you

cultivate a sense of responsibility and commitment to your tasks as a teacher? How does

this align with the Code of Ethics, particularly in fostering collaborative environments?

Being actively involved in participating in school activities such as staff discussions and

lesson planning which provides opportunities to collaborate with colleagues help me to

cultivate a sense of responsibility and commitment to my tasks as an educator. through

these activities enables me to exchange ideas, gain feedback, and support the school’s

broader goals. This involvement aligns well with the code of ethics, which promotes unity

and a collegial work environment. By working together, educators can create a unified

learning environment that embodies mutual respect and shared commitment.

2. Duality in Work Conditions

Given that schools often present both challenging and supportive working conditions, how

do you plan to maintain a positive attitude and resilience in difficult situations? How can

embracing both the positive and negative aspects of teaching help you grow professionally

and ethically?

To maintain a positive attitude and resilience in difficult situation I plan to focus on my long-

term goals and staying solution oriented during difficult situations. embracing both positive

and negative aspects helps me to cultivate accountability and which ultimately improves my

adaptability and support my professional and ethical development.

3. Commitment to the Common Good

In what ways can a strong sense of social responsibility, loyalty, and teamwork contribute to

the betterment of the educational institution and the students’ welfare? How does this

commitment reflect the ethical standards expected of professional teachers?

A strong sense of social responsibility, loyalty and teamwork contributes to the betterment of

the education institution and the welfare of its students by promoting a positive school

culture that fosters an inclusive and supportive environment. And also, by supporting

students’ holistic development considering their social, emotional and academic needs not

just their academic outcomes enhance the overall well-being of students and the institution.

This commitment to students well being and prioritizing their welfare aligns with and reflect

the ethical standards expected of professional teachers.

4. Finding Purpose and Fulfillment in the Profession

How can you balance personal needs and ambitions with the broader goals and values of

the teaching profession? How does evaluating whether a task is meaningful or beneficial to

the organization influence your sense of purpose as a teacher?

I believe that balancing personal needs and professional ambitions begins with having a

clear direction—by setting both short-term and long-term goals—and organizing my time

effectively. Valuing self-care through activities like exercise and hobbies is also crucial for

maintaining my mental and physical well-being, which helps me stay fulfilled while upholding

the professional standards expected of an educator. This balance allows me to stay

purpose-driven and committed to my role as a teacher.

How do you think the feeling of being valued by your institution affects your commitment to

teaching? How important is it for you to feel that your efforts are recognized, and how will

you ensure that your focus remains on ethical service to students and the community,

regardless of external rewards?

As a future educator for me I think the feeling of being valued by my institution strengthens

my commitment to teaching. whether it is through formal feedback or small gestures, it

pushes me to give my best and keeps me excited about my role. Like for example in the

future, I receive positive feedback on my teaching I think it will help me to stay focused and

motivated in my work. while being recognized is motivating, my commitment to ethical

teaching and my students' development is what truly drives me in this profession.
