Welcome to The Art of Misunderstanding, where clarity is a myth, and confusion in my existence.

I’ve
mastered the art of nodding politely when I have no idea what’s going on, and my phone autocorrects
every “hello” to “hell.” So, get ready to embrace the confusion because here, misunderstanding is the
main event, and trust me, it’s going to be a masterpiece of chaos. I once asked a waiter for something
spicy but instead of getting of what I asked, I ended up with white people food. DTM Ahmed Rizvi Fellow
Gaveliers and Guest A very good evening to you all!

Imagine getting up every morning to listen to your teacher saying this. Yes, I have to deal with this every
single morning. There are many reasons to misunderstand but today I will be talking about one of the
most main reason. It is the accent of person which can lead to you to misunderstand. Now today my
speech is not about school teachers but about the ART OF MISUNDERSTANDING. Now I have some
examples on how easy it is to misunderstand in my school. Let’s take my chemistry teacher as our 1 st
example. Magnesium? No no . Macnescium. Gas? No no. Gyass . And as for my maths teacher. Ohh
don’t get me started there. IDK why but it was always the maths teacher who has those thick accents.
My maths teacher can’t even pronounce hello. I genuinely don’t know how I pass my exams. Now
school isn’t the only place I have trouble understanding what a person said. It happened in various
places like shops, cold stores, sports shops and even vegetable market. Now just last week me and my
family went to get vegetables since we were running out of stock. Now for some reason my mom told
me to go carrots since she taught I wasn’t social enough with society. I went to seller and I went “Can I
get 3 kg carrots?” The seller “What” I once again said “Sir can I get 3kg carrots please?” “Yarrrr beta
what you say” we just kept on going. At some point we were just screaming at each other and the entire
market was just looking at us. And then for some reason my mind just clicked and in fake indian accent I
said “ Bhaiyaaa TEEN KILO carrod carrod” and then seller went “ Are yaaarrrr You could told me that
know, here beta here” Then the seller just gave me the carrots like nothing just happened. Speaking of
accents let me tell you funny plus embarrassing story that happened to me. Once When I went to Sri
Lanka. one day I went to a concert. Now This concert was a type of concert where the audience would
get a chance give feedback about how their day went. Now in the beginning of the concert it was so fun.
People were singing along to song, dancing and having fun. When the concert was coming to an end, the
singer decided to get people from the audience to give feedback. Now Various people were chosen and
they gave their feedback saying how It was fun and a good time to enjoy the moment with their family.
And then for no reason they decided to take a child. And that child was Me. I went up to the stage, my
hands trembling. My mind was blank. I stood there and the hosts announces me question and I go huh
and again the host announces the question and once again I go huh look I couldn’t understand What the
announcer was saying at because the announcer was a British person. “What do ya think about the
concert” Now look I was still like 8 at that time so obviously didn’t understand was that man was saying.
Out of the audience some random man got so pissed he screamed out “ Yakkooo Are u deaf or what? He
is asking you if you liked the show or not” And I just blurted out some random stuff and got down the
stage feeling embarrassed and that man? He was just drunk and did not know what was happening.

In conclusion, Misunderstandings are inevitable, but they make life hilariously unforgettable!
