Baby Blues Blanket Pattern
Supplies:
• Worsted weight yarn – approximately 1000 - 1300 yds

4 balls), and Sky (2 balls)
• Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
Size: Approximately 31” wide by 37” tall. The blanket can be made wider by adding
multiples of 6 chains to the foundation row. It can be made taller by adding
additional pattern sections. Each multiple of 6 adds approximately 1.75” to the
width.

Notes:
• The pattern uses US crochet terms.
• The pattern is created by working four different pattern sections in the
order listed below using the colors listed. Each section has a main color, which
© 2016 RBSCrochet 2 Baby Blues Blanket Pattern
!
!
is used to start the section, and an accent color. The written patterns refer
to the main and accent colors for that section.
• At the end of each row, turn and work the next row in the opposite direction.
However, when you complete a shell section, do not turn the blanket to the
other side. Instead work the first row of the next section in the same
direction as the last shell row.
• Color changes: For most of the pattern, you can either make color changes (1)
in the last yarn over of the previous row, or (2) by completing the row,
fastening off, and then attaching the new color. However, when ending a shell
section, complete the row and fasten off. Then, without turning, start the
next row where you began the final shell row.
• The starting ch 3 always counts as a dc.
• When working the first row of the double rows pattern after a chevron
section, make the final dc in the first dc of the previous row, do not work
into the ch.
