Cookfest Mechanics

COOKING CONTEST
DATE: July 31, 2024
TIME: 9:00-11:45am
PLACE: SCLC Cultural Activity Center

DETAILED MECHANICS:
1. The cook fest competition is open to all Grades 4-10 students.
2. Each grade level shall have five (5) representatives assigned to cook different dishes.
3. Participants shall prepare dishes in different categories such as Meat, Poultry, Vegetables,
Dessert, and Juice.
4. Participants must provide all ingredients, cooking tools and equipment needed for preparing a
creative food garnish.
5. All participants should wear gloves, apron and hairnet.
6. At the designated time, participants will have 15 minutes to set up the work station, and 2 hours
and 30 minutes to cook and prepare their dishes.
7. All dishes from each grade level will be judged according to the following criteria:
Palatability/Taste - 25%
Use of Nutritious Ingredients - 25%
Originality - 25%
Visual Appeal - 15%
Ease of Preparation - 10%
Total: 100%
8. Advisers shall only supervise their students and not assist in the cooking.
9. The judges will give an award of the following:
 Best Meat Dish
 Best Poultry Dish
 Best Vegetable Dish
 Best Dessert
 Best Juice
 Best table setting and skirting
10. Winners will receive a prize and Certificate of Recognition.
11. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
