Roles and Responsibilities of Church Youth Committee Members


The Youth Church Committee serves as the backbone of the youth ministry, working
collaboratively to nurture spiritual growth, promote unity, and create meaningful
experiences for young members. Each role within the committee—from leadership and
organization to event planning and financial management—ensures the ministry operates
effectively and aligns with the church's vision. Together, the committee inspires and
empowers youth to deepen their faith, engage with the community, and grow as future
leaders in Christ.

1. Chairperson
 Leadership and Oversight:
• Presides over committee meetings and ensures they run efficiently and effectively.
• Sets the agenda in collaboration with the secretary.
• Provides direction and vision for the youth committee in alignment with church
goals.
• Chairs committee meetings and ensures agendas are followed.
 Decision-Making:
• Oversees major decisions related to church administration and activities.
• Mediates discussions and ensures fair decision-making processes.
 Representation:
• Acts as the spokesperson for the committee in church meetings and external
engagements.
• Liaises with church leadership, members, and external stakeholders.
2. Vice-Chairperson
 Support and Collaboration:
 Assists the chairperson in all their duties.
 Steps in to lead meetings or events when the chairperson is unavailable.
 Helps with conflict resolution and ensures smooth collaboration within the team.
 Special Assignments:
• Takes on specific projects or initiatives as delegated by the chairperson or
committee.
• Ensures continuity of leadership during transitions or emergencies.

3. Secretary
 Documentation and Communication:
• Records and maintains accurate minutes of all meetings.
• Prepares and distributes agendas, notices, and reports.
 Record Keeping:
• Maintains a log of all decisions and ensures access to church policies and
procedures.
• Keeps records of attendance and important correspondence.
• Keeps track of important dates and schedules meetings, events, and deadlines.
• Maintains files for materials, reports, and resources needed for youth activities.
 Coordination:
• Ensures timely communication between the committee and the congregation.

4. Treasurer
 Financial Oversight:
• Manages church finances, including tracking income and expenditures.
• Prepares budgets in collaboration with the committee.
• Maintains transparent financial records and ensures compliance with policies.
 Reporting:
• Provides regular financial reports to the committee and congregation.
• Oversees fundraising efforts and donation management.
 Auditing and Accountability:
• Ensures proper financial accountability and prepares for audits if needed.

5. PR Team
Roles include managing social media, marketing, events, and volunteer coordination.
 Strategy and Planning:
 Develops a social media calendar aligned with church events.
 Plans and organizes church activities and events.
 Assigns tasks, manages schedules, and ensures resources are available.

 Content Creation and Marketing:


 Design and create engaging posts, videos, and stories that reflect the church's values
and youth activities.
 Maintains branding consistency in church themes (gold, blue, red).
 Develop and manage advertising campaigns to promote events, programs, and
services.
 Engagement and Volunteer Coordination:
 Recruits and manages volunteers for events.
 Responds to inquiries and runs interactive activities (polls, live sessions).
 Ensures clear communication with all participants.
 Logistics and Reporting:
 Oversees event logistics, setup, and equipment.
 Tracks engagement and presents regular reports on events and social media
performance.
 Suggests improvements based on feedback and data insights.
 Training and Crisis Management:
 Trains youth members in social media best practices.
 Organize digital literacy workshops to teach the youth how to positively represent
their faith online.

6. General Responsibilities of All Committee Members


 Participation:
• Attend meetings regularly and actively contribute to discussions and decision-making.

• Uphold church values and act in the congregation's best interests.

 Feedback:
