Establish Clear Cut Objectives:
1. We will have time with God each day before we have time with anyone or anything else.
Praying together each morning (this includes weekends).
Personal Bible study and meditation.
Being in bed by 22:00.
2. We will be consumer debt free within two years
We will not buy anything unless we have the cash on hand for it.
There will be no further expenses made to credit cards.
Accept whatever consequences we will/have incurred on ourselves because of our past
decisions.
3. We will have a deep and meaningful personal relationship in our marriage.
Going on weekly dates regardless of financial status
(no money simply means "no money dates").
Talking about concerns, hopes, issues, dreams, thoughts, etc.
Setting aside at least one block of time each week for planning.
4. We will have deep personal relationships with our children.
Having Daddy/Daughter and Mother Daughter times at least once per month.
Weekly family devotional times.
Eating meals together as a family at least 3 times per week.
Focus On The Reward:
1. We will be obeying God.
We will have peace of mind.
We will see God move in our lives!
We can be more of what we need to be in encouraging other people.
We will become more faithful.
We will become more Godly.
2. We will finally live financially free!
We will be able to help people less fortunate than ourselves.
We will not be tempted to stress over finances.
We will be able to aid our parents in meaningful and complete ways.
We will be able to give generously to our Lord.
We will be prepared for any financial crisis.
3. We will have a marriage that is enjoyable, fun, and happy.
We will have an affair proof marriage.
We be able to help other couples in their marriage.
We will please God.
We will have a marriage that can withstand the troubles and trials of this life.
We will be an example to our children.
4. We will have friendships with our children that will withstand adversity and life trials.
We will be able to receive and enjoy God's promises for our children's futures.
We will see our children live their lives for God as Jesus' disciples!
We will be proud parents.
We will be able to help other parents.
Our children will be a "blessing"!
Count The Cost:
1. If we do not adhere to the above, our lives will continue to be mediocre (at best), problem filled,
stressful, disappointing, unhappy, tiresome, faithless, empty, unspiritual, displeasing to God,
compromised, hurtful, pitiful, sinful, unfulfilled, regretful, guilt ridden, worldly, unproductive, temporary,
unsatisfying, and of Satan.
Joshua 24:14-15
"Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers
worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. But if serving the LORD seems
undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods
your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are
living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
1 Corinthians 9:24-27
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way
as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get
a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run
like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and
make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the
prize.
