Ch1 at beginning of row doesn’t count as first st
completed.
This pattern looks great and different on right and
wrong sides, so you can play around with it. It will be
great for scarves, blankets, hats and clothing. You can
use more than one color as well. Happy crocheting!
Row 1: ch a multiple of 4+5, dc in 5th ch from hook (ch4
counts as first dc and ch1, here and throughout), *skip
next 3ch, shell in next st*, repeat from * to last 4ch, skip
st(s) – stitch(es) next 3ch, (dc, ch1, dc) in last ch, turn
ch – chain stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet
sp – space
*yarn over, insert hook in specified st and
draw up a loop, yarn over and draw through 2 loops*,
now you have two loops on hook (photo1), repeat from
* two times more working in same stitch, (photo 2) yarn
over and draw through all four loops, CL made (photo 3)
Row 2: ch1, (sc, ch3, CL) in first dc, skip next 2dc, *(sc,
ch3, CL) in next dc*, skip next 2dc*, repeat from * to last
