Vector Calculus

Introduction :

Calculus is a branch that deals with the study of the rate of change of a
function. Generally, calculus is used to develop a Mathematical model
to get an optimal solution. We know that calculus can be classified into
two different types, such as differential calculus and integral calculus.
But we might not be aware of vector calculus. In this article, we are
going to discuss the definition of vector calculus, formulas and specially
on the deferential part of vector calculus. Also, Vector Calculus plays an
important role in the different fields such as:

*Used in heat transfer

*Navigation
*Sports
*Three-dimensional geometry
*Partial differential equation

Vector Calculus Definition :

Vector Calculus, also known as vector analysis, deals with the
differentiation and integration of vector field, especially in the three-
dimensional Euclidean space. Vector analysis is an analysis which deals
with the quantities that have both magnitude and direction.
# In vector we will introduce with some vector identities. If A is a
vector it is written as (do with latex). From vector we can see the
multiplications of vector which are dot products and cross products.
Each procedure are given below,
*Write both dot product and cross product procedure with vector with
latex*
Unit Vector:
A vector is a quantity that has both magnitude as well as direction. A
vector that has a magnitude of 1 is a unit vector. It is also known as
Direction Vector. It is written as ( small a with cap sign, do with latex).
A(vector) / A = unit vector direction to A(vector) = ( small a with cap
sign, do with latex).

Nabla Operator (Del) :

Del, or nabla, is an operator used in mathematics (particularly in vector

nabla symbol ∇. It is defined as,

calculus) as a vector differential operator, usually represented by the
# The list of Vector Calculus identities are given below for different
functions such as Gradient function, Divergence function, Curl function,
Laplacian function, and degree two functions. We will keep our today
topics on Gradient function, Divergence function, Curl function.

 Gradient function
The gradient of a function is defined to be a vector field. Generally, the
gradient of a function can be found by applying the vector operator to
the scalar function. (∇f (x, y)). This kind of vector field is known as the
gradient vector field. Now, let us learn the gradient of a function in the
two dimensions and three dimensions.
Here is an example of a gradient function:
 Find the gradient of the function, f(x, y, z) = sin(x) (e^y) ln (z)
#We know that potential is a scalar quantity and according to
properties of vector and scalar quantity, we know that the gradient of
any scalar quantity gives us a vector quantity. Thus we can say that the
gradient of potential will be a vector quantity.
