Instructions to the Students:

• The BUHVK406 for the 4th semester ABA will be based on SDGs (Sustainable
Development Goals) defined by the United Nations (UN).

• The objective is to engage students in understanding and addressing one of the 17

Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through practical activities, research, and
solutions. As part of this assessment, students will be conducting fieldwork, collecting
real-time data, and analyzing challenges and solutions. Each group will focus on one
SDG goal and work together to present your findings and results.

• What are the SDGs?

• The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a set of 17 global goals adopted by all
United Nations Member States in 2015 as part of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable
Development. These goals aim to address the most pressing global challenges and
promote peace, prosperity, and equality for people and the planet. They are designed
to guide global efforts toward achieving a better, more sustainable future for all.

Here are the 17 SDGs:

• No Poverty – End poverty in all its forms everywhere.

• Zero Hunger – End hunger, achieve food security and improved nutrition, and promote
sustainable agriculture.

• Good Health and Well-being – Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at
all ages.

• Quality Education – Ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote
lifelong learning opportunities for all.

• Gender Equality – Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

• Clean Water and Sanitation – Ensure availability and sustainable management of

water and sanitation for all.

• Affordable and Clean Energy – Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable, and
modern energy for all.

• Decent Work and Economic Growth – Promote sustained, inclusive, and sustainable
economic growth, full and productive employment, and decent work for all.

• Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure – Build resilient infrastructure, promote

inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation.

• Reduced Inequality – Reduce inequality within and among countries.

• Sustainable Cities and Communities – Make cities and human settlements inclusive,
safe, resilient, and sustainable.
• Responsible Consumption and Production – Ensure sustainable consumption and
production patterns.

• Climate Action – Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts.

• Life Below Water – Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine
resources for sustainable development.

• Life on Land – Protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems,
manage forests sustainably, combat desertification, halt and reverse land degradation,
and halt biodiversity loss.

• Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions – Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for
sustainable development, provide access to justice for all, and build effective,
accountable, and inclusive institutions at all levels.

• Partnerships for the Goals – Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize
the global partnership for sustainable development.

• These goals are interconnected, meaning that success in one area often depends on
solutions in other areas. They provide a framework for addressing environmental,
social, and economic challenges that affect all countries.

Phase-Wise Presentation and Activities Breakdown

1. Group Formation:
o Each group will consist of 4 members.
o A specific SDG goal will be allotted to each group.
o Each student is required to prepare 2 to 4 slides (depending on the number of
students in the group).

2. PPT Preparation Guidelines:

o All slides must mention the student’s USN.
o Include the following sections in each slide given below:
o Objective: What is the aim of your activity? How does it relate to the assigned

taken during field visits and mention the sources of your data (URL, Link to
online websites if considered).
o Real-Time Data: Collect real-time data from your activities and present it
clearly in your slides.
o Location Visits: You must visit relevant places related to the SDG and take valid
geotagged photos to showcase your research. (Limited to Mysore or within the
Karnataka State)

o All data, analysis, and pictures should be included and referenced.

3. Final Report:

o At the end of all phases, a final report summarizing your findings,

methodology, challenges, solutions, and conclusions should be submitted.
o The report should include detailed descriptions of the activities carried out,
results obtained, and any conclusions about how your project contributes to
achieving the assigned SDG.

4. Important Notes:

o The geotagged snaps are crucial and must show evidence of the activities
conducted in real-time.
o Use interactive and attractive slide design techniques (e.g., visuals, diagrams,
bullet points) to make your presentation engaging.
o All data must be original and relevant to the SDG.
