1.1 To lay down the procedure for Operation & Cleaning procedure for Ultra
Filtration System

2.1 This SOP is applicable for Ultra Filtration System at Prosperity 6
Pharmaceutics - Unit II
3.0 Responsibility& Accountability
3.1 Responsibility
3.1.1 Engineering Personnel is responsible for Operation & Cleaning of Ultra
Filtration System
3.1.2 Engineering Officer/Executive is responsible for verification of operation
activity of Ultra Filtration System
3.1.3 Engineering head / Designee is responsible for implementation of this SOP.
3.1.4 QAD-Head/Designee is responsible for review and approval of this SOP.
3.2 Accountability
3.2.1 Engineering head/Designee is accountable for overall compliance of this
SOP.
4.0 Definitions
Not Applicable.
5.0 Health, safety & environment
5.1 Use necessary safety wears like Gloves, Helmet, Ear protectors and Safety
shoe wherever necessary.
6.0 Procedure
6.1 Pre-checks:
6.1.1 Ensure the availability of compressed air pressure is 4 to 6 kg/cm2.
6.1.2 Check and ensure the sufficient water level in the Raw Water storage tank(T-
101/T-102).
6.1.3 Check the availability of Three Phase power supply for Control Panel.
6.1.4 Ensure the Preparation of SMBS dosing solution in Dosing Tank (DT-102).
6.1.5 Ensure the Preparation of Hypo (NaOCl) dosing solution in Dosing Tank
(DT-103).
6.1.6 Open Valve V-101/V-103, V-102/V-104, V-111, V-115, V-112 Partially
Opened, V-113 Partially Opened, V-114 Partially Opened.
6.1.7 Close Valve V-106, V-108, V-109.

6.2 User access levels:


6.2.1 Below table describes the user menu access levels of PW Generation system,
“YES” mark states that particular menu is accessible and “NO” mark states
that particular menu access is restricted.

7.0 Starting procedure:

7.1 Ultra Filtration System:

7.1.1 Switch “ON” the power supply from control panel and the HMI will be displayed as
shown below

7.1.2 Press “LOGIN” tab in the HMI and login popup window will be displayed as shown
below.

7.1.3 Enter the password, Press the enter tab and after successful login. The user can
operate the system.
7.1.4 Press on the PROCESS button in HMI Screen, So that the Below Mentioned Screen
Will be Displayed.

7.1.5 Press the “UF SYSTEM” tab on Above mentioned Screen and enter into Pre
treatment and Ultra Filtration System accessing. On Pressing UF System Tab
the Below Screen Will be Displayed.

7.1.6 Process mode consists of following modes.

7.1.7 Press “BACK TAB” the System selection Screen will be Displayed..
7.1.8 Press MIMIC tab to monitor the operation in auto mode and popup screen
will display as shown in below figure.

7.1.9 On the Above Screen User can see the operation of UF system.
7.1.10 Press the “SETTINGS” on PROCESS screen will display as shown in below figure.

7.1.17 Press on Back tab the Fig.7 screen will be displayed.


7.1.18 Press on Alarm Tab alarms list screen will be displayed.
7.1.19 Press on NEXT tab the screen will be Displayed as shown Below.

7.2 Service Operation - Auto Mode:


7.2.1 Click on “Auto mode” Tab as mentioned in Fig.04
7.2.2 Once the System Kept in Auto mode, the Valve (XV-101) will open and the Feed
Pump (P-101/102) and Dosing Pump(DP-102) will start Automatically.
7.2.3 Set the Feed Flow NMT 15000 LPH in Flow meter (FI-101) and the Feed Pressure
(PG-101) NMT 3.0kg/cm².
7.2.4 ORP must be NMT 400mv if it exceed the set parameter, the water will drain
automatically through XV102.
7.2.5 Initially the Inlet valve XV-103 and XV-105 will open for Forward Flushing.
7.2.6 After the Process of Forward Flushing the valve XV-105 gets closed automatically.
7.2.7 Then valve XV-106 will get Open to fill the Tank(T-103&T-104).
7.2.8 MGF outlet Pressure (PG-102) NMT 2Kg/cm²

7.2.9 Softener Outlet Pressure (PG-103) NMT 1.5 Kg/cm².


7.2.10 UF Inlet Pressure (PG-104) NMT 1.5 Kg/cm².
7.2.11 UF Reject Pressure NMT 1.5 Kg/cm².
7.2.12 UF Product Pressure NMT 1.0 Kg/cm².
7.2.13 UF Reject Flow NLT 1500 LPH.
7.2.14 UF Product Flow NLT 13500 LPH.
7.2.15 When the Filtration water Storage tank (T-103&T-104) Reaches medium level the
UF System starts Automatically to fill the tank.
7.2.16 When the Filtration water Storage tank (T-103&T-104) Reaches High level the UF
System get stop Automatically and go to Flush process
7.3 Backwash Operation – Auto mode:
7.3.1 The Backwash operation shall be Performed as the set parameter of Service operation
gets complete.
7.3.2 Backwash operation performed only when the Filtration water storage tank is in
medium or High level.
7.3.3 The Backwash operation consists of following process

 Air Scoring
 Gravity Drain
 Top Backwash
 Bottom Backwash
 Forward Flush
7.3.4 In Air scoring process the UF reject valve XV-105 and Air inlet Valve XV-107 Shall
open for 15 seconds.
7.3.5 After the completion of Air Scoring the UF Gravity drain process starts, in this
Process the UF Drain valve XV-104, UF Reject Valve XV-105 shall be open for 30
Seconds.
7.3.6 After the Completion of UF Gravity drain process the UF Top Backwash gets starts,
in this Process UF reject valve XV-105 gets open and the UF backwash Pump P-103
gets ON for 20 Seconds. The Outlet Flow of Backwash pump NMT 40,000 LPH
monitor the flow in FI-104.
7.3.7 After the Completion of UF Top Backwash the UF Bottom Backwash gets starts, in
this Process UF Drain valve XV-104 gets open and the UF backwash Pump P-103
gets ON for 20 Seconds. The Outlet Flow of Backwash pump NMT 40,000 LPH
monitor the flow in FI-104.

7.3.8 After the Completion of UF bottom Backwash the Forward flush gets start, in this
process UF reject valve XV-105,UF inlet valve XV-103 gets open and the Filter
pump P-101/P102, Dosing Pump DP-102 gets ON.
7.3.9 After the Completion of Forward flushing the UF system goes to service operation.
7.4 UF CEB Backwash operation – Auto mode:
7.4.1 The UF CEB backwash operation shall be performed As per the Set parameters.
7.4.2 UF CEB Backwash operation performed only when the Filtration water storage tank
is in High level.
7.4.3 The Backwash operation consists of following process

 CEB mode
 Soaking Operation
 Air Scoring
 Gravity Drain
 Top Backwash
 Bottom Backwash
 Forward Flush
7.4.4 In CEB mode the UF drain valve XV-104 gets open and dosing pump DP-102 and
UF backwash pump P-103 gets ON for 20 seconds.
7.4.5 After the completion of CEB mode the soaking operation gets start, in this operation
All the auto valve closed (XV-103, XV-104, XV-105, XV-106) and Dosing pump
DP-102, UF backwash pump P-103 stops automatically.
7.4.6 In Air scoring process the UF reject valve XV-105 and Air inlet Valve XV-107 Shall
open for 15 seconds.
7.4.7 After the completion of Air Scoring the UF Gravity drain process starts, in this
Process the UF Drain valve XV-104, UF Reject Valve XV-105 shall be open for 30
Seconds.
7.4.8 After the Completion of UF Gravity drain process the UF Top Backwash gets starts,
in this Process UF reject valve XV-105 gets open and the UF backwash Pump P-103
gets ON for 20 Seconds. The Outlet Flow of Backwash pump NMT 40,000 LPH
monitor the flow in FI-104.

7.4.9 After the Completion of UF Top Backwash the UF Bottom Backwash gets starts, in
this Process UF Drain valve XV-104 gets open and the UF backwash Pump P-103
gets ON for 20 Seconds. The Outlet Flow of Backwash pump NMT 40,000 LPH
monitor the flow in FI-104.
7.4.10 After the Completion of UF bottom Backwash the Forward flush gets start, in this
process UF reject valve XV-105,UF inlet valve XV-103 gets open and the Filter
pump P-101/P102, Dosing Pump DP-102 gets ON.
7.4.11 After the Completion of Forward flushing the UF system goes to service operation.

7.5 Manual Mode:


7.5.1 Click on “Manual mode” Tab as mentioned in Fig.04
7.5.2 Once the System Kept in Manual mode, the open Valve (XV-101) manually and ON
Feed Pump (P-101/102) manually and ON Dosing Pump(DP-102) manually.
7.5.3 Set the Feed Flow NMT 15000 LPH in Flow meter (FI-101) and the Feed Pressure
(PG-101) NMT 3.0kg/cm².
7.5.4 ORP must be NMT 400mv
7.5.5 Initially open the Inlet valve XV-103 and XV-105 manually for Forward Flushing for
30 secs.
7.5.6 After the Process of Forward Flushing the Close valve XV-105 Manually.
7.5.7 Then valve XV-106 Open manually to fill the Tank(T-103&T-104).
7.5.8 MGF outlet Pressure (PG-102) NMT 2Kg/cm².
7.5.9 Softener Outlet Pressure (PG-103) NMT 1.5 Kg/cm².
7.5.10 UF Inlet Pressure (PG-104) NMT 1.5 Kg/cm².
7.5.11 UF Reject Pressure NMT 1.5 Kg/cm².
7.5.12 UF Product Pressure NMT 1.0 Kg/cm².
7.5.13 UF Reject Flow NLT 1500 LPH.
7.5.14 UF Product Flow NLT 13500 LPH.

7.6 Backwash Operation – Manual mode:


7.6.1 Backwash operation performed only when the Filtration water storage tank is in
medium or High level.
7.6.2 The Backwash operation consists of following process

 Air Scoring
 Gravity Drain
 Top Backwash
 Bottom Backwash
 Forward Flush
7.6.3 In Air scoring process the UF reject valve XV-105 and Air inlet Valve XV-107 open
manually for 15 seconds.
7.6.4 After the completion of Air Scoring the UF Gravity drain process has to be started, in
this Process the UF Drain valve XV-104, UF Reject Valve XV-105 Should be
opened for 30 Seconds.
7.6.5 After the Completion of UF Gravity drain process the UF Top Backwash Has to be
Started, in this Process UF reject valve XV-105 should be opened manually and the
UF backwash Pump P-103 Should be switched ON manually for 20 Seconds. The
Outlet Flow of Backwash pump NMT 40,000 LPH monitor the flow in FI-104.
7.6.6 After the Completion of UF Top Backwash the UF Bottom Backwash has to be
started, in this Process UF Drain valve XV-104 should be open and the UF backwash
Pump P-103 gets ON for 20 Seconds. The Outlet Flow of Backwash pump NMT
40,000 LPH monitor the flow in FI-104.
7.6.7 After the Completion of UF bottom Backwash the Forward flush should be started, in
this process UF reject valve XV-105,UF inlet valve XV-103 should be open
manually and the Filter pump P-101/P102, Dosing Pump DP-102 Should be switched
ON.
7.6.8 After the Completion of Forward flushing the UF system Shall be kept in service
operation.

7.7 UF CEB Backwash operation – Manual mode:


7.7.1 The UF CEB backwash operation shall be performed As per the Set parameters.
7.7.2 UF CEB Backwash operation performed only when the Filtration water storage tank
is in High level.
7.7.3 The Backwash operation consists of following process

7.7.4 In CEB mode the UF drain valve XV-104 Should be opened and dosing pump DP-
102 and UF backwash pump P-103 Should be Switched manually ON for 20
seconds.
7.7.5 After the completion of CEB mode the soaking operation gets start, in this operation
All the auto valve Should be closed manually (XV-103, XV-104, XV-105, XV-106)
and Dosing pump DP-102, UF backwash pump P-103 Should be switched OFF
Manually.
7.7.6 In Air scoring process the UF reject valve XV-105 and Air inlet Valve XV-107
Should be opened manually for 15 seconds.
7.7.7 After the completion of Air Scoring the UF Gravity drain process has to be started, in
this Process the UF Drain valve XV-104, UF Reject Valve XV-105 should be opened
for 30 Seconds.
7.7.8 After the Completion of UF Gravity drain process the UF Top Backwash Has to be
started, in this Process UF reject valve XV-105 should be opened and the UF
backwash Pump P-103 has to Switched ON manually for 20 Seconds. The Outlet
Flow of Backwash pump NMT 40,000 LPH monitor the flow in FI-104.
