Control Network Module

Control Network Module delivers a broad range of features to facilitate network integration of Honeywell Level 1 devices in varying
applications either in modular remote cabinets or centralized cabinets and across Honeywell process systems and emergency shutdown
systems. As the backbone for Level 1 device communications, Control Network Module is cyber secure, with enhanced encryption
technologies. It also provides the technology to accommodate future increases in the amount of sensed data, up to 1Gbps both in uplink
and downlinks. In Release 100, CNM is used to integrate Honeywell Level 1 devices only. CNM provides an easy and secure solution which
provides a direct out of the box user experience.

BENEFITS

• 1st party solution • Cyber secure with encryption technologies • Level 1 integration is within system cabinet

• Reduced cost – approximately 45% to 55% • Low-cost fiber optic SFPs – 60% cheaper • Single Model Number - reduces spares

• Reduced network engineering hours – 40% • Reduces network commissioning by 20% to 30% • Self-configuring, self-diagnosing module

• Zero configuration module • Eliminates need for 3rd party fiber optic extenders • Easy integration with Experion® system
CNM is comprised of a main module accommodating 4 combo
(Fiber – Copper) downlink ports @ 10/100/1000 Mbps and one
combo uplink port @ 1Gbps to communicate to the rest of the
network. In use cases requiring fewer ports, the main module
alone can be used as in the case of Universal Safety Cabinets. The
expansion module provides 8 additional ports, comprised of 4
combo ports @ 10/100/1000 Mbps and 4 ethernet ports @ 10/100
Mbps. Together with Main and Expansion modules, CNM can
provide 12 downlink ports and can be used for high port density
solutions as in SM-SC cabinet and Series–C process cabinets or
