Jack Out

Jacks you out of the matrix and reboots the device you’re using. Suffer dumpshock if you were in VR. [USE WHEN
LINK-LOCKED]

Jump Into Rigged Device [RIGGER]

(M) - User/Admin - Electronics + Logic
Jump into a device that has a rigger adaptation (vehicle, drone, etc.). Requires appropriate access, VR and control rig.
No test required if the device belongs to you.

Probe
Outsider/User/Admin - Cracking + Logic (extended, 1 min.)
Probe a device for weaknesses in order to gain backdoor entry. On a success, you take the time to avoid detection and
create an exploit that lasts a number of hours minus the host/device rating. Net hits count as dice pool bonus when
using Backdoor Entry action. Suffer a dice penalty if your Sleaze is lower than your Attack attribute.

Backdoor Entry
(M) - Outsider - Cracking + Logic
Attempt to use a backdoor exploit you’ve put in place with the Probe action. Net hits from the Probe action count as a
dice pool bonus. On a success, gain legal Admin access. On a failure, the backdoor exploit was detected and removed.

Brute Force
(M) - Outsider/User/Admin - Cracking + Logic
Directly attack a device, flooding it with requests, commands, queries and junk code to create an access exploit.
Fastest way to gain illicit access but carries more risk, as it is always detected and increases OS. Suffer a dice penalty
if your Attack is lower than your Sleaze attribute.

Matrix Perception
(M) - Electronics + Intuition
Gain information about something in the matrix, with more information gleaned the more net hits you get. Use this
action to try spotting any icons that are running silent in the vicinity.

Matrix Search
Outsider/User/Admin - Electronics + Intuition (extended, 10 min.)
Search the publicly accessible grid for information, with more information gleaned the more hits you get.

Hash Check
(M) - User - Electronics + Logic
Specialized matrix search for an encrypted file by matching it to a hash value given to you. Or you can do successive
tests to guess at the hash value on your own, whittling away possible hash codes.

Snoop
(M) - Admin - Cracking + Logic
Intercept matrix traffic sent to/from your target for as long as you have access. You can listen, to, view or read this data
live or save it for later if you have a deck or commlink.

Trace Icon
(M) - Admin - Electronics + Intuition
Find the physical location of a device or persona in the matrix. (Doesn’t work on IC or hosts that have no physical
location.)

HACK/ATTACK
Data Spike
(M) - Outsider/User/Admin - Cracking + Logic
Send harmful instructions to a persona or device, causing matrix damage. Damage Value = your Attack Attribute
divided by 2, rounded up, with one additional box of damage per net hit. suffer a dice pool penalty if your Attack is lower
than your Sleaze attribute.

Set Data Bomb

(M) - Admin - Electronics + Logic
Set a data bomb in a file that will trigger when someone attempts to read, edit, copy, protect, delete or otherwise alter it.
Choose a rating up to the net hits on your test. Decide also if the data bomb will delete the file it is attached to when
activated, and the passcode required to deactivate it.

Tarpit
(M) - Outsider/User/Admin - Cracking + Logic
If you succeed in making this attack, do (1 + net hits) damage to the icon you attacked while also reducing their Data
Processing by the same amount. If it goes down to 0 DP, they cannot perform a matrix action until it recovers to at least
1. Suffer a dice pool penalty if your Attack is lower than your Sleaze attribute.
 INTERACT/CHANGE
Change Icon
(m) - User/Admin - no test required
Change the target’s icon to one you have a copy of or have designed yourself. Doesn’t stand up to a Matrix Perception
check, but might fool personas who don’t take the time to inspect it. You can also change your own icon.

Control Device
(M) - User/Admin - Electronics + Logic
Enables extended remote control of a device. You maintain control until you relinquish command or are forced out.
Once in command, you can take any action that would normally require the level of access you already have.

Disarm Data Bomb

(M) - User/Admin - Cracking + Logic
Attempt to disarm a data bomb you have detected with a Matrix Perception action. The data bomb activates on a
failure, causing damage and possibly destroying any file to which it was attached.

Edit File
(M) - User/Admin - Electronics + Logic
Create, change, copy, delete or protect any kind of file. A copy belongs to you. Small edits take one action, with
ongoing edits (such as on a video feed) requiring an action each round.

Encrypt File
(M) - User/Admin - Electronics + Logic
The hits on this test establish an Encryption Rating that’s used to opposed Crack File attempts.

Format Device
(M) - Admin - Electronics + Logic
Rewrite the boot code of the target device. The next time it would reboot, it instead shuts down for good, at least until
its software can be replaced, rendering it bricked for all intents and purposes.

Reboot Device
(M) - Admin - Electronics + Logic
The target device reboots, coming back online at the end of the next combat round. It disappears from the matrix and
any Overwatch Score, exploits or backdoors are reset.

Send Message
(m) - Outsider/User/Admin - no test required
Send a text or audio message the length of a short sentence, an image, or a file via the matrix to a user whose
commcode you have. If you’re using a DNI, you can send longer and more complicated messages. You can also use
this action to open a live feed to one or more recipients with a digital recording device.
Crack File
(M) - User/Admin - Cracking + Logic
Remove the encryption/protection from a file, making it readable.

Crash Program
(M) - Admin - Cracking + Logic
Overload part of your target’s memory and scramble one of its running programs. You must specify which program
you’re trying to crash (use a Matrix Perception test or observation to ascertain this).

Spoof Command
(M) - Outsider/User/Admin - Cracking + Logic
Send a signal to a device with a command it perceives as coming from its owner.

SELF/META
Check Overwatch Score (OS)
(M) - Admin - Cracking + Logic (4)
Check your current Overwatch Score (OS).

Full Matrix Defense

(M) - Outsider/User/Admin - no test required
Prevents you from attacking, but makes your defense stronger. Add your Firewall rating to your next defense roll if you
are attacked in the matrix.

Reconfigure Matrix Attribute

(m) - Admin - no test required
Swap the base ratings of two non-zero ASDF attributes of your matrix persona, even if the numbers are rooted in
different devices.

Switch Interface Mode

(m) - Admin - no test required
Switch your device interface between AR and VR.

Erase Matrix Signature [TECHNOMANCER]

(M) - User/Admin - Electronics + Logic
Eradicate a matrix signature that has been left by a Resonance being, such as a technomancer or a sprit. You must
have a Resonance rating to attempt this action.

Hide
(M) - Outsider/User/Admin - Cracking + Intuition
Make a target lose you, requiring them to make a Matrix Perception test to find you again. You can’t hide from an icon
that has gained User or Admin access to anything in your network.

Jam Signals
(M) - Admin - Cracking + Logic
Turn the wireless device you’re using into a local jammer. As long as you don’t use it to make any matrix actions, add
any hits you get on the test to the noise rating for all matrix actions conducted by or targeting any devices within 100
meters.
