Hello,
Here’s a copy of the chat transcript you requested:
Good Evening!
Friday 08:12 PM
AT&T : Hi there! Let's get you some help. Please select an option so I can connect you.
description:I'm looking for a new phone, plan, line or protection.
description:Get help with my phone, account or bill.
Help me shop
Me : Help me shop
AT&T : Thanks for shopping with AT&T! An agent will be with you shortly.
Connected to live agent.
Esteban is here to help!
Esteban : Thank you so much for contacting AT&T. You are in contact with the Online Sales
Postpaid Department. This is Esteban!
To better assist you, can you please provide me a phone number so I can address your request over the
phone?
Me : Good evening. I will be vacationing in the US July and August. I want to know the plan available
Me : The best plan
Esteban : Perfect! thank you so much for letting me know this information, and welcome to the US, I
hope you enjoy your trip :)
Esteban : Just to confirm, do you have a standard address in the US or you are going to be in a hotel?
Me : I am not there as yet but will be flying to the US in July
Me : I will be staying at a residential address
Esteban : Got it, thank you so much for this info
Esteban : Remember that is important to have some Id verification as SSN or driver's license, may I
know if this is the case? if not please let me
know so I can look for aditional options
Me : I have a SSN that I got in **** when I was on the J1 work and travel program .
Me : Can that work?

Esteban : Perfect! let's try that one
Esteban : May I know if you are going to port a number from another carrier and bring your
own device?
Me : Last year I was added to a friends line so there is number via e-sim **** I have in my phone
Me : its deactivated though
Esteban : May I know what is the current carrier of this number?
Me : At&T
Esteban : Got it, may I know the number please?
Me : ************
Esteban : So you will be bringing this number and your own device as well
Me : Yes.
Me : But since the number is on another line and that line isn’t active could I have the number
transferred and listed as directly mine?
Me : The number is still showing in my phone though via e-sim
Esteban : Yes, it would be possible for you to use this number, but in this case something
happens, to complete this process, this is a transfer of billing responsibility, for you to transfer
that line from one account to the one that would be yours
Me : Ok
Esteban : In this case I higly recommend you to have a new number better, to get a new
number it is necessary to complete the process in an AT&T store once you get to the US,
and in that way you won't be paying for a service that you start using on July
Me : So when I start the service in July in store do I pay anything upfront?
Esteban : No upfront since you will be bringing the device, the system just requires money
down when getting new devices
Esteban : The process will be set up right away
Me : So let’s say I go in store in July 5 and start the process. When I do I make my first
payment?
Esteban : The first payment is usually 20 days after you activate the phone with AT&T
Me : Okay.
Me : I am using an iPhone 14 Pro Max I bought in my home country. Is it likely I can trade up?

Esteban : Other option would be maybe getting prepaid services, but as you are looking for
the best plan, a postpaid plan would be just perfect for you
Me : Okay. And this would be nothing down when I walk in the store and activate. So if I
activate a postpaid on July 5 my first bill would be on July 25
Esteban : Correct
Esteban : May I know the IMEI ****** of the device?
Me : 35 ***********56 3
Esteban : Something that I recommend you is to start the service with your phone, then try
the to trade in that device, that process would be easier for you
Me : Okay. How much would the trade in cost me if I should trade in to get a 15 pro max?
Esteban : That depends on the conditions of the device, if the device is in perfect conditions
you are going to get $**** in bill credits, that means that your installment plan would be of just
$5.56 monthly
Me : ok
Esteban : This would be a very good deal for you :)
Me : The phone isn’t in perfect condition though as I had issues with the battery and it went
down to 88% battery health
Esteban : May I know if is there anything else that I can assist you with?
Esteban : Got it
Esteban : In this case the credits can change, however you can receive as well $700 in bill
credits
Me : Which would make monthly installments of how much as I’d be coming back to my home
country with it
Esteban : The thing is that if you take it, it would be necessary to pay off the device before
returnig, so I highly recommend you that if you want to get this device, it will be better to get it
in your country
Me : Okay:
Esteban : It would be better if you use your device here
Me : Last question. What’s theist affordable postpaid plan? I in essence just need data and to
be able to make calls
Esteban : If you later want to stay in the US you can take this phone for this price, that would

be great
Esteban : The most affordable for postpaid is the value plus, that one would be just $50
monthly
Me : Okay. Thank you
Esteban : I hope I have provided you a 5 star service today which is what you deserve
Me : You did
Esteban : Thank you so much for contacting AT&T, please enjoy your vacation time of
this beautiful country :)
Me : Thank you
Esteban : You are welcome!
Esteban : Please don't forget to close the chat
