1. This form is based on NFPA 101 life safety code, 2015 edition, in correlation with the IBC 2012 edition. , And SBC - Saudi Building
Code Requirements 2007 edition (801 - Fire Protection) (The form will be revised when new editions are published). The IBC will be
consulted for items which are not clear in the NFPA, or when the IBC shows more restrictive requirements.
2. This form is meant for the purpose of a quick complete code review, to help the project designer, project architect and the engineers in
making principal decisions. When a detailed code study is needed, the PA and the engineers shall prepare such a study in greater detail
than this form covers.
3. Check NFPA applicable chapters 12 through 42, based on occupancy classification, and insert them into the blank spaces shown under
references NFPA.
4. Note that some chapters in the NFPA 101 have different categories for the same occupancy classification. In this case, the reference
number. Shown on the form may be slightly changed. Also, note that some occupancies are put in separate parts of the chapter as
special provisions.
5. The PA shall initial after each code activity item that has been addressed in the Code Review.
6. Each discipline engineer shall initial that he has addressed the specific code items for his discipline. The PA shall A to the list
any additional engineer needed to check the engineering requirements
7. Code activities/items that are not applicable shall be noted NA.
