Dear Program Director,

I am writing to seek an opportunity to join the Family Medicine Residency program at your
hospital.
My choice of attending a medical school was made early in life and was inspired by my
personal interest in medicine and by an example set by my family, a dynasty of doctors, involved
in this noble trade for some generations. My desire to help suffering people inspired me to learn,
improve my skills, and after obtaining my medical degree to always help my patients to the full
extent.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from State Medical University (Ukraine) and moved to Israel
where I continued my medical career. I have completed four years Residency in a very
competitive and a highly rated Internal Medicine Program, and a one-year fellowship in
Nephrology and Hypertension. As part of my experience in a major metropolitan hospital in
Israel, I have worked with a diverse population of patients from various cultural backgrounds and
a variety of ages.
To get a clinical experience in the United States, I did a volunteer work as a medical assistant
in Pediatric office in Staten Island, NY. I was inspired by relationship between patients and
physicians I worked with, which was based on respect, honesty, and trust. I am convinced that
working over time with the same patients, knowing their medical history and providing care for
the family members of different generations is a very effective way of solving and preventing
many medical problems. Involvement is a very valuable asset for a physician in general, and the
experiences I had so far have been most rewarding.
Currently I’m working as a research assistant in Nephrology Department at Maimonides
Medical Center, Brooklyn, NY, where I’m involved in three research projects. I have been able to
gain clinical experience during bedside teaching rounds and nephrology consults, where I was
involved in direct patient care under supervision of an attending physician. During last year I
rotated in department of internal medicine as an observer, where I presented cases and
participated in teaching rounds and conferences.
I look forward to continuing my education and career in the United States and I seek an
opportunity to join the Residency program in Family Medicine at your hospital. I am dedicated,
hard working, and a quick study. I can concentrate and make fast decisions in critical situations. I
speak four languages fluently - English, Hebrew, Russian, and Ukrainian, which I feel, in
combination with my experience can be an asset to your hospital. I will dedicate my time, effort,
knowledge and experience to the program, and I can assure you that you will be very pleased with
my work should I be chosen to participate.
Please, feel free to contact me if you have any questions or require any additional information
at: (718) 715-5074, or by email: tanya@[Link]
Thank you for taking your time to consider my application,
