360 DSP Meter Cloning

Cloning configuration and setup files from one 360 DSP to another is very useful tool
when using the ViewPoint Express software to setup multiple meters. This procedure
will save you time by only setting up one meter in the ViewPoint Express software and
then simply cloning those settings to all others meters that will include the same
settings.
Perform the following steps to clone all configuration and setup files from one 360 DSP
to another:
1. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB Port of the meter to clone.
2. Press the Function button and
select the Activate USB
Power function as shown in
the image to the right. This
activates power to the USB
flash drive and mounts it to the
file system. The 360 DSP is
now capable of transferring
files to and from the USB flash
drive.
3. Select the Database softkey.
4. From the Database pop-up
menu, select the Backup
button as shown in the image
to the right.

5. The Message Bar will indicate


a successful backup to the
flash drive by displaying the
text
“-> /media/sda1/main.db”
as shown in the image to the
right.

6. Press the Function button


and select the Deactivate
USB Power function as shown
in the image to the right.
7. Remove the USB flash drive
from the meter to clone.

8. Login to an existing user or create a new user on the new meter to clone to.
9. Insert a USB flash drive into the USB Port of the new meter to clone to.
10. Press the Function button
and select the Activate USB
Power function as shown in
the image to the right. This
activates power to the USB
flash drive and mounts it to the
file system. The 360 DSP is
now capable of transferring
files to and from the USB flash
drive.

11. Select the Database softkey.


12. From the Database pop-up
menu, select the Restore
button.

The clone process is now complete. To continue with additional meters return to step 7
as the database file on your memory stick may be used for all your meters. You will not
have to export another database file unless there are additional files you want to move.
