February 2001 (Nonionic versatile detergent and wetting agent)

‘Noigen X 100' is mainly developed as versatile nonionic detergent


and wetting agent.

Type Non-ionic

Constitution Alkyl aryl polyether alcohol

Features • Easily soluble in water and forms transparent solution with foam.
It is also soluble in alcohols, ketones and other polar solvents.

• It has excellent emulsifying and dispersing power. It readily


emulsifies oils, greases and solvents. The emulsification power
of Noigen X 100 is considerably improved in combination with
soaps, sulphonates etc.

• It is a rapid and thorough wetting and penetrating agent at very


low concentrations. The typical wetting time for 0.1% aq. soln of
Noigen X 100 by Canvas Disc Method is 20.3 Sec.

• It is a power detergent and is extremely useful in removing oils,


greases, waxes without redeposit ion on the soil. Its excellent
risibility even at low temperatures ensures thorough cleaning in
shorter cleaning time.

• It has excellent antistatic properties.

• It has excellent stability in the presence of high concentrations


of alkalis and metallic ions.

• It is stable to high temperatures and its wetting, detergent and


dispersing powers are not affected at high temperatures.

• It is compatible with other nonionic and anionic products, starch,


glue, CMC, Methyl Cellulose, Hydroxy ethyl cellulose, etc.

• It is stable to oxidizing and reducing agents such as Hypo


chlorites of soda or calcium ,Sodium per borate, Hydrogen
peroxide, Sodium nitrite, Sodium bisulphite, Sodium
hydrosulphite formaldehyde, Sodium sulphoxylate formaldehyde
etc.

Storage Stable under normal conditions.

Application Because of its powerful wetting, detergent, emulsifying and


dispersing properties, combined with stability to acids, alkalis,
metallic salts and oxidizing and reducing agents at all
temperatures, Noigen X 100 finds wide applications in a variety of
industries viz.

Textiles, Leather, Paper, Insecticides and Pesticides


formulations, Dyes and pigments, Soluble oils for finishing all
types of textiles, Emulsion cleaning, solvent cleaning, Rust
removal, Antistatic finishes for synthetic fibers

Suggestions for use –

Degreasing 0.1- 0.5 gms / litre


Emulsification 2.0 – 5.0 %on weight of solvent
Wetting 0.1 – 0.5 gms / litre or
0.2 – 0.6 % of the weight of the
solids to be wetted
