1. Project Overview

This project aims to establish a commercial sheep farming unit with 100 sheep (90 ewes and 10 rams) for

meat production. The farm will be set up in a rural area with appropriate infrastructure and veterinary care.

2. Breed Selection

Recommended breeds include Nellore, Deccani, or Mandya for meat production. These breeds are

well-suited to local climatic conditions and have good growth rates.

3. Infrastructure Requirements

The farm will require around 1 acre of land. A shed of approximately 1000 sq. ft. will be constructed with

proper ventilation, drainage, and feeding facilities. The land will also include fenced grazing space, a water

Lambs will be sold at 6-9 months age, primarily in local meat markets or through direct buyers. Market
