INTRODUCTION
Brief History on Organization
Hatari Security Guards Ltd was founded in 1985 and incorporated under the company
act (cap 486) in 1994. It has been in service for over 30 years and has grown from strength
to strength up to its current state capable of providing high standards of security services.
It currently boasts of more than 4,500 security guards, a fleet of vehicles and motor cycles
for back – up and supervision of its security personnel and clients premises.

GUARDS SERVICE OFFERING
Staff Recruitment and Training
Each member of the Hatari team is carefully screened. Our pre-employment
background process includes criminal record checks, vulnerable sector checks, and
psychological testing. Each security officer is interviewed by our management team,
thoroughly vetted, and must supply five verifiable references. Successful candidates are
then trained in our systems, equipment, and certifications, and are bonded and insured.
HSGL Security bears ISO certifications that are an indication of our commitment
towards quality management of all our services and products, environmental and
health and safety requirements of a workplace.
At HSGL Security, a security Officer will be employed purely on merit. The recruitment
of quality Security Officers is the cornerstone of HSGL’s success. Therefore, the
procedure for recruitment must be carried out without variation. The process must be
monitored at a senior level. Certain aspects of the process have absolutely no
discretion and can therefore be delegated. Other areas require judgment and total
integrity and therefore must be carried out by senior managers.
Recruitment
At HSGL Security, we are fully committed to the need for regular, quality training for all
employees of the company. It is a vital component for assuring the optimum
performance of the guard force. All guards will undergo our basic guard’s course and
they will receive annual refresher courses. All personnel that attend any training will
receive a certificate and a copy will be filed in the employee’s personal file. A master
training record will also be kept.
Recruitment commences with the short-listing of suitable candidates as per
recruitment criteria. After the short listing, an aptitude test is administered to those
who meet the criteria. The HRM is then advised to convene a Recruitment Board,
which is mandated for recruitment. The recruits are then handed over to the School
for documentation before commencement of training as per Weekly Programme.
We have reproduced below our staff Vetting Procedure from our Procedures Manual.
All Security Officers are required to produce an up to date Certificate of Good
Conduct, but we do much more than this to ensure the background of our recruits.
Vetting Procedure
All our staff undergo thorough screening and vetting before being allocated any
duties within guarding services. Only staff who have worked within the company for
over three years and with clean files are considered for entry into Cash Management
services. We have a separate security department whose main duty is purely
continuous staff vetting.
Training
We are fully committed to the need for regular, quality training for all employees of

Human resources are the corner stone of any security service and in this respect,
HSGL leads the way with a highly developed training resource which meets or
exceeds national and international standards for manned guarding skills
qualification.
The HSGL SECURITY Training School in Nairobi is a registered training organization with
the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA) in Kenya and provides a wide range
of courses to third party commercial clients. This resource services the regional
training development for HSGL SECURITY Training schools through monitoring the
training curriculum development for each subsidiary training division.
Refresher Training
Refresher Training is an important part of our desire to provide continuous
improvement. Refresher Training will take 2 forms: training that happens
concurrently while a person is on duty and periods set-aside for formal re-
certification training.
Staff uniforms & identification
All our guarding services staff are kitted by the company and we have a
replacement program for uniforms. All staff carry with them a Company identity card,
which contains a photo and full details of the employee.
We understand the need for a maintenance and replacement program for all
uniform and equipment. We also understand that the provision of a quality uniform
has a significant impact on the morale of our personnel. The uniform that HSGL
Security uses complies with Ministry of Labour Protective Security Act and Private
Security Regulatory Authority.
We will supply all uniforms assigned to the personnel under this contract. Any uniforms
or uniform items that become unserviceable during the contract shall be replaced
at the expense of HSGL.

PRODUCT PORTFOLIO
CASH SOLUTIONS
HSGL SECURITY is highly experienced in providing CIT services to a wide range of
customers including financial institutions, the retail and hospitality sectors and small
businesses. We also provide end-to-end ATM Services, including cash supply,
replenishment and maintenance. Over the years, the services provided have
evolved into an efficient, sophisticated and secure system for the collection and
delivery of cash to both large and small organizations and retail outlets belonging
to financial institutions and non-financial institutions. Our Cash in Transit services are
conducted by security professional personnel who have undergone specialized
training to meet the industry standards of KSIA among others who are among the
most experienced and trustworthy in the industry.
ALARM RESPONSE
Hatari Security responds quickly and effectively to emergency situations that may arise
in or near our clients’ establishments, including those involving a security alarm system or
burglar alarm. Our alarm response agents will verify the status of your property, facility or
residence when any alarm is activated. Once a threat has been identified, the response
agent will immediately notify Central Station to dispatch law enforcement.
When an activation signal is received in our Central Station, an alarm response agent
can immediately be dispatched to the premises to verify whether the activation was
inadvertent or if an actual security breach has taken place.
Our alarm Response includes:
• Strategically based radio dispatched alarm response vehicles respond in minutes
• Highly trained unarmed and armed* Units
• All vehicles equipped with satellite tracking
• K9 tracker dogs response unit on call
• Self-testing digital alarm transmitter equipped with anti-tamper device
• SMS message alerts for client notification of alarm occurrence
• Fully equipped ambulances with trained paramedics on standby
• Roadside rescue service for clients
• Vehicle escort services
Central Control Room
In order to respond to emergencies HSGL Security has systems in place so that all
assignments have a communication link to HSGL Security Control Room, which is
manned 24 hours.
The control room operates 24 hours. Personnel monitor alarms, CIT Vehicles,
customer vehicles, integrated security systems and Guarding operations. They are
responsible for dispatching emergency response team whenever there is an alarm
and communicate to relevant offices of the same and file reports for internal
dissemination and action. They also coordinate all the logistical activities and
oversee the operations of our control rooms nationwide. Personnel are highly
trained in IT, Alarms monitoring, security procedures public relations among others.
In cases of emergencies our response time is usually between 3-5 minutes.
Our Control Room is also linked to the Police 999 and Fire Brigade control rooms
hence allowing receipt of fire alarms signals at Police and Fire Station. This enables
response to the assignment in case of fire.

DOG SECTION
Hatari Security’s Dog section is able to provide contract or emergency security dog
handlers to cover any workplace. We can provide trained expert staff with dogs, with
uniforms to compliment your existing security procedures or we can advise and prepare
a tailor made package to meet the individual requirements of each client and situation
however delicate or routine this may be.
Our Professional Management team and supervisors ensure that Security Patrol / Guard
Dogs and handler teams are being kept up-to-date with regular continuation training,
while our experience within both the Services and the civilian sectors place us at the
forefront of Guard Dog operations being members of East Africa Kennel Club.
Security Patrol + Guard Dogs are a proven asset in the reduction of theft, criminal
damage and violent behavior. It is commonly accepted that one Security Patrol Dog
and Handler team can be as effective as five static security officers, due to the canine’s
excellent olfactory system.
TECHNICAL SERVICES
HSGL has consistently continued to drive the highest possible industry standards setting
benchmarks for excellence, while evolving to meet the changing needs of customers.
HSGL is dedicated to assist in the protection of people and property by providing quality
innovative products and solutions. HSGL recommends and installs high end electronic
security systems to assure safety and security for client’s homes or business premises.
Strategic relationships with local and international research and manufacturing
companies are important to HSGL to provide products that meet the specific needs of
each customer. HSGL technical team is well trained to install and maintain electronic
security equipment, CCTV, access control and all are monitored at the 24-hour Control
Room.
