What is Cybersecurity?
Protecting computers and the internet from being hacked or used in harmful
ways.
What is AI Malfunction?
When robots or computer programs (AI) don’t work properly or make mistakes
that can cause problems.
Why It’s Important: Cyberattacks can steal important information, and AI
mistakes might harm people or cause confusion.
In the United States, there have been many cyberattacks on government and
private company computers. In 2025, it was found that hackers from China used
special computer viruses to steal important information from over 4,000 computers
worldwide. These viruses were spread through USB devices, and they allowed the
hackers to spy on the U.S. and take sensitive data.
In Estonia, a country that relies heavily on technology, cyberattacks caused serious
problems in 2024. Hackers are believed to have damaged an underwater power
cable and communication systems between Estonia and Finland. This was thought
to be done by hackers from Russia, though they denied it. This attack showed how
important it is to protect the systems that help run power, money, and information
across countries.
In the Philippines, there has been an increase in cybercrime. In 2023, hackers from

from their systems. This shows how much work needs to be done to protect
