Narrative Report on National Reading Program
Quarter 1- Grade 2
“Reading is important, because if you can read, you can learn
anything about everything and everything about anything”. —Tomie
dePaola
Tambo Elementary School has successfully implemented the National
Reading Program (NRP) during the first quarter of School Year 2024-2025. The
program aims to improve reading skills and foster a love for reading among
students.
The objectives of this program are to enhance reading comprehension and
fluency among students. Develop critical thinking and analytical skills through
reading and encourage reading habits and promote literacy.
Dring implementation, teachers have the ability to teach and are willing to do
what they can to help struggling readers. They crafted grade-level reading
materials
Regular reading sessions, 30 minutes/day were conducted from 1:00 pm to 1:30
pm. Students' reading progress was regularly assessed and monitored and
parents were oriented to conduct a follow-up reading at home
To sum it up the National Reading Program implementation at Tambo
Elementary School for the first quarter has shown promising results. With
continued support and improvement, we aim to foster a culture of reading and
literacy among our students.
