Chapter 4 Operation Plan

4.1 Operation Plan

The operation plan is one of the most important factors to consider in a business. Like other
companies, our target is to ensure that our products/services are the best in quality and able to
satisfy our customers’ needs and wants. Hence, a systematic operational plan is formed so that
our business runs smoothly and achieves its objectives.

4.2 Objectives

The objectives of our operational plan are as follows:

1. To promote sustainability and reduce waste by using resources like water, electricity and
detergents as efficiently as possible to minimize costs and save the environment.
2. To maintain specific quality standards for laundry services by frequent quality
inspections to meet or exceed client expectations.
3. To ensure an efficient and motivated workforce by providing training programs to
improve their skills of laundry in operating equipment efficiently, handling different
fabrics correctly and maintaining high standards of hygiene.

4.3 Operational Process

● INPUT
Dirty laundry: Clothing, linens, and other items from customers.
Washing machines: machines for washing the dirty laundry.
Suppliers: detergents, fabric softener. It is the basic item used to wash dirty laundry.

● TRANSFORMATION PROCESS
Washing: Use commercial washing machines with appropriate detergents.
Drying: Utilize commercial dryers for efficient drying.
Ironing & Folding: Press and fold items neatly.
Packaging: Package items securely for return to customers.

● OUTPUT
Cleaned and Neatly Packaged Laundry: Ready for customer pick-up or delivery.

● FEEDBACK
Customers give feedback on the service quality and inform on aspects that need improvement.

4.11 License, Permits and Regulations

To open a laundry service business, there are some licensed that are required:

Business License Register the business with the Companies


Commission of Malaysia (SSM) or the relevant
business registration agency. This license guarantees
that we can conduct our business lawfully.

Premises License Obtain a premises license from the local authorities,


such as Majlis Perbandaran atau Majlis Perbandaran
Tempatan.

Health and Safety Permits Ensure that your laundry premises comply with all
local health and safety requirements. This includes
providing a clean and safe facility for both staff and
customers.

Environmental License Ensure our business complies with relevant


environmental regulations. This includes proper
waste disposal and environmentally friendly
practices.

Water License Our business uses a significant amount of water, we


need a water license from the Jabatan Alam Sekitar
or local authorities.
