4. A rectangular floor a swimming pool measures 5.4m by 4.2m wide. The floor is to be
covered with square tiles. Calculate the minimum number of square tiles required to
cover the floor. (3mks)

5. A regular polygon has interior angle of 165 and side of 10cm. Find the perimeter of
the polygon correct to one decimal place. (3mks)
6. Use graphical method to solve the simultaneous equation,

𝑦 + 2𝑥 = 10
2𝑥 + 2𝑦 = 14 (3mks)
7. A piece of wire is in the form of an arc of a circle radius 21cm. The angle at the centre
is 1200 . If the wire is bent to form a square, find the dimension of the square. (3mks)
8. Using a ruler and a pair of compass only, construct quadrilateral ABCD in which
AB=4cm, BC=6cm,AD=3cm and angle ABC=1350 and angle DAB=600 . Measure
the size of angle BCD. (4mks)
9. Mr. choge a Kenyan athlete was to visit South Africa from Kenya . Before his visit ,
he changed his currency from Kenya shillings to South African rand. The exchange
rates in one of the Kenya bank were as per the table below:

10. A man who is 1.5m tall is standing 7m away from a building . The angle of
depression from the top of the building to the man’s feet is 600 . Find the height of the
building correct to four significant figures. (2mks)
11. In 4X100m relay competitions, a team of athletes from USA each completed their
part in 10 seconds, 9.7 seconds,9.9 seconds and 9.4 seconds respectively. If the race
ended at [Link]p.m, find the time when the team started the race. (3mks)
12. A two-digit number is such that the sum of the ones digit and the tens digit is 10. If
the digits are reversed, the number exceeds the original number by 54. Find the
number. (3mks)

13. The diagram below (not drawn to scale) shows the cross-section of a regular
hexagonal solid metal prism length 20cm.

Calculate:
a) the area of the shaded region. (5mks)
b) the volume of the material used to make the metal in cm³. (2mks)
c) If the density of the metal prism is 3.5g/cm³. Find its mass in kg. (3mks)

14. Every Sunday Barmao drives a distance of 80km on a bearing of 074 to pick up her
sister Afandi to go to church. The church is 7 km from Afandi’s home on bearing of
S500E. After church they drive a distance of 100km on a bearing of 2600 to check on
their friend Akoth before Barmao drives to Afandi’s home to drop her off then
proceed to her house
a) Using a scale of 1cm to represent 10km, show the relative positions of these
places. (4mks)
b) Use your diagram to determine:
i) The true bearing of Barmao’s home from Akoth’s house (1mk)
ii) The compass bearing of the Akoth’s home from Afandi’s home (1mk)
iii) The distance between Afandi’s home and Akoth’s home (2mks)
iv) The total distance Barmao travel every Sunday. (2mks)
15. Using a ruler and a pair of compasses only, construct triangle ABC, such that AB =
5cm, BC = 6cm and AC = 6.4cm. Locate the locus of P such that it is equidistant from
the sides AB, BC and AC. Measure the shortest distance, r between side AB and the
centre P using length r and centre P. Draw a circle. Measure CP. (10mks)
