PETITION FOR GUARDIANSHIP
(Under Section 74 of the Children’s Act Cap 62)
The Petition of GABRIEL AKIIKI a male adult of sound mind and a resident of
Namugongo, Kira in Wakiso District and states as follows;
1. That the Petitioner is desirous of obtaining a legal guardianship of Gabriella Abwooli,
aged ten, Gideon Araali, aged five and Maria Abooki, aged three. Under the provisions of
the Children’s Act Cap 62.
2. That the Petitioner is a citizen of Uganda and his residence in Uganda is Kira Wakiso
District. Attached is a copy of the National Identity card marked ‘A’.
3. That the Petitioner was born in………….. District on the……… and he is aged……..
Attached is a copy of the birth certificate marked ‘B’
4. That the petitioner works and resides in Gabriella Child Day Care Center and Nursery
School in Namugongo, Kira in Wakiso District as well.
5. That the Petitioner is the father of the three biological children (Gabriella abwooli,
Gideon araali, and Maria abooki.
6. That the Petitioner is a reputable father who loves his to children and wants obtain a legal
bond between him and the children.
7. That the Petitioner doesn’t have any criminal record in Uganda or in any other
country. Attached is a certificate of good conduct from Interpol-Uganda marked ‘E’
8. That the children Gabriella abwooli, Gideon araali, Maria abooki are;
a. Of male and female sex
b. Minors
c. Ugandan citizens
9. That the Petitioner is willing to provide the basic needs of the children and keep them
safe to attain the best interests and welfare of the children.
10. The Petitioner prays;
(a) That an order for guardianship of the child be granted under the Children’s Act.
(b) Costs of the Application be provided for.
(c) That such other orders be made as the nature of the case may be.

IT IS HEREBY OREDERED THAT;
1. The Applicant MR. GABRIEL AKIIKI of NIN………………………… is appointed
a guardian in respect of Gabriella Abwooli, aged ten, Gideon Araali, aged five, Maria
Abooki, aged three proprietary interest in land comprised in and known as
Kyaddondo Block 185 Plot 1120 measuring Approx. 2 Acres in the best interest of the
minors.
2. The Applicant is authorized to execute any documents and instrument necessary in
the transactions relating to the land comprised in Block 185 Plot 1120 at Kyaddondo
measuring Approx. 2 Acres.
3. The Applicant shall apply the entire proceeds to the welfare of the minors.
4. The Applicant should execute a noncash bond of Ugx 1,000,000/= for the due
administration of the minor’s estate
5. The Applicant is to meet costs of this application.
