To apply to engineering related undergraduate programs that require an above-average level in


mathematics, physics, and chemistry, in addition to English, such as aeronautical engineering or
aerospace engineering in China top 100 universities, Candidates must include recommendation
letters from their subjects teachers, each application file should contain at least three
recommendation letters.
A strong recommendation letter should follow a clear structure and include specific elements that
make it persuasive and impactful. Below are the key components to include:
1. Header

 Referees Name
 Title & Position
 Institution/Organization
 Address or the city
 Email Address
 Phone Number
 Date
2. Salutation

 Address it appropriately, e.g., "To Whom It May Concern" or the name of the specific
recipient if known.

3. Introduction

 Explain the relationship between the referee and the applicant (e.g., teacher, mentor, or
supervisor).

 Mention the purpose of the letter (e.g., "I am writing to recommend [Your Name] for
admission to [Program Name] and/or a scholarship in China").

 Provide a brief overview of the applicant's strengths.

4. Academic Achievements

 Highlight the applicant’s performance in relevant subjects of the program (e.g., mathematics,
physics and chemistry, English).

 Mention specific accomplishments, such as high grades, research projects, or awards.

 Provide concrete examples that demonstrate their academic potential.

5. Personal Qualities

 Describe character traits such as dedication, adaptability, teamwork, discipline and leadership

6. Relevance to the Program/Scholarship

 Explain why the applicant is a great fit for the program or scholarship.
 For programs, highlight their passion for the field (e.g., aerospace engineering/ aeronautical
and astronautical engineering).

 For scholarships, emphasize their potential for cultural exchange and global impact.

7. Closing Statement

 Reiterate confidence in the applicant's abilities and potential.

 Encourage the recipient to contact the referee for more information if needed.

8. Signature

 Include the referee’s name, title, signature and official contact information
