CHAPTER 1
Before the COVID-19 pandemic even arrived, one of the topics of study
and discussion in schools, particularly among students, was the various factors
affecting a student's academic standing. Many studies in recent years have been

released regarding different reasons that may impact students' studies. For
example, a study by Boi, B.L. (2020) where he identified the origin of the student
as one of the factors affecting their studies. The environment where a student
grew up and the people they interact with play a significant role in shaping their
learning. Also included in this discussion are the parents of students because
they are the ones who initially dictate where and with whom their children will be.
from their families also affects their studies. Students who frequently spend time
with their parents tend to perform better than those who rarely see their families.
Additionally, the article also pointed out the financial status of the families the
students belong to, which also has a significant impact on them. Related to this,
Lacsamana and Lucas (2020) also stated that instead of focusing on their
education, students often choose to work in order to provide for their families'
basic needs.
From these factors, researchers can say that there are indeed many

Dear Respondents:
A survey questionnaire is created to effectively collect data or information
from randomly picked participants among third-year students of the Philippine
College of Criminology. The questionnaire seeks to gather information that may
be evaluated to understand ideas, behaviors, preferences, or experiences
connected to finding different factors or issues affecting student’s academic
performances by conducting questions that are clear and concise. Researchers,
Professors, and Students can all benefit from using surveys given that they
provide an organized approach of obtaining information that can be used to
discover trends, evaluate the efficacy of activities, assess needs, and inform
decision-making processes. Moreover, comprehensive survey questions support
the reliability and accuracy of the data gathered, allowing for relevant
interpretation and analysis.
