different document are printed. This
implies that printing one document
requires more toner than printing
another. Especially when colour is
used, the differences can be quite
important.

Then why would you pay the same


price for every print?

KYOCERA Document Solutions is the first manufacturer on the market to offer laser
printers and multifunctionals with 3 counters for colour prints, where each counter is
linked to a different coulour coverage percentage. This means that the user will pay a
different price per page for each specified coverage percentage, instead of only one single
price for all colour prints, regardless of how much colour toner is used in a document.

KYOCERA Document Solutions is thus the first on the market to offer prices for colour prints
based on the real toner consumption.

ONLY PAY FOR THE COLOUR YOU USE


The KYOCERA colour MFPs and printers offer 3 coverage values: low, medium and high.
Between these values, two thresholds are defined. The first threshold is set at 2,0% and the
second at 10,0% coverage.

Every page printed with a colour coverage below or equal to 2,0% is considered as being
low colour coverage; every page with a colour coverage from 2,1% to 10,0% is considered
as being medium colour; 10,1% and higher is considered as being high colour coverage.

The colour coverage is the average coverage of the 3 colours cyan, magenta and yellow.
Black is not calculated for this purpose: e.g. a page with 10% black, 2,5% cyan, 1,5%
magenta and 1,5% yellow has an average of 1,83% colour coverage, so counted as low
colour coverage.

The examples shown hereunder give you an idea about the colour coverage percentages
of these documents if they were printed in A4.
