Gameplay Mechanics
o Game Setup:
Prepare the Boggle game by placing all the letter
dice in the game board (a square-ish grid) and
securing the dome-shaped cover on top.
Each player must have a pencil and paper for
writing down words.
Players: 3 players.
Scramble the Letters: Shake the grid to randomly
arrange the dice.
Timer: The game will last 3 minutes, using the
mini hourglass provided or any timer.
o Playing the Game
The objective of Boggle is to find words by
"chaining" letters that are adjacent to one
another, either horizontally, vertically, or
diagonally.
The letters used to form a word must be connected,
and you can’t skip or “jump” across letters.
Word Requirements: Words must be at least three
letters long. Very short words, such as “I,” “an,”
or “the,” are not allowed.
Reusing Letters: You cannot use the same letter
die twice in a single word. For example, in the
word “neon,” the "n" can’t be used again in the
same word. However, you can use the same letter in
different words.
Word Direction: The words can be formed in any
direction—up, down, left, right, or diagonally, as
long as the letters are adjacent in some way and
are not repeated in the same word.
o Word Rules
Unique Words: Each word you find should only be
written down once.
Valid Words: Words must be in English and found in
a dictionary. Short words (e.g., "I," "an") are
Page 56 of 82
not allowed. Proper nouns, abbreviations, and
foreign words are not accepted.
Plurals and Multiple Definitions: Plural forms of
words count as separate words.
o End of Round and Scoring
As soon as the 3-minute timer runs out, all
players must immediately stop writing.
Word Review: Starting with the player who shook
the grid, all players take turns reading aloud the
words they found. Any word that appears on another
player's list should be crossed off.
During this phase, you only count the words that
are unique to you and have not been crossed out.
Scoring: After finalizing the words, the points
are tallied based on the length of each valid
word:
3-4 letters = 1 point
5 letters = 2 points
6 letters = 3 points
7 letters = 5 points
8 or more letters = 11 points
The "Qu" cube counts as 2 letters.
After all players have counted their points, the
winner for the round is the one with the most
points.
Elimination Mechanics
o Total Participants: There are 6 total players in the
competition.
o Initial Grouping:
The 6 players are divided into 2 Groups (Group a
and Group B), with each group containing 3

letters.
