Grading System:
The following will be utilized for computation of the final grade at the end of the semester.
Test: A test will be conducted within the semester. The schedule for the test are below:
DATE VENUE TIME
Test In view In view In view
Please note: The tests are close book. You might be interested in using calculator for your
computations.
Homework: Problem Sets will be handed. Late submission will not be entertained except in
genuine cases that will be verified for reasonability. The marks for the problem sets are
summative towards the final grade.

Lab Sessions/Design Project: Laboratory sessions will hold weekly through the Semester. All
Departmental representatives should make necessary arrangements for their schedule at the
Mechanical Engineering Laboratory.
Attendance: All students are required to attend all lectures. The attendance will be 5% of the
final grade. Only sick students with sick leave report from the University health center will be
considered allowed to skip a class.
Final Exam: The examination time tables including University approved venues will be made
available by the Deputy Registrar exams & Records.
The summative nature of the final grade is as shown below:
ACTIVITY ALLOTED MARK
Homework/Class attendance/Class Quiz 05%
Test 20%
Practical 10%
Design Project 05%
Final Examination 60%
TOTAL 100%

Honor code:
In this course, you may consult and collaborate with each other to complete homework and seek
advice on your project work; however, your answers must be written out and submitted
independently. All test and exams will be completed alone, without books, notes, or other aids.
In order for full participation and engagement during class, electronic devices such as computers,
tablets and cellphones must be turned off. This code of conducts are enacted to ensure a
conducive learning environment. You may further refer to the University code of conduct on
class session, examinations etc. through the registrar office.
