ACCESSIBILITY SAFETY AESTHETIC BUDGET
BUILDING MATERIALS
Terracotta Tile Roof
A bamboo-terracotta tile roof combines the flexibility and eco-
friendliness of bamboo with the durability and charm of
terracotta tiles. Bamboo serves as the structural framework,
providing a lightweight yet strong base for the tiles. The
terracotta tiles protect against heat and heavy rain, while
adding a rustic and timeless look.
Amakan (Woven Bamboo Mats)
Great for interior and exterior wall cladding, amakan is
lightweight, breathable, and adds a rustic vibe. However, it
needs regular upkeep to prevent damage from moisture and
pests.
Nipa (Thatch Roofing)
Perfect for roofing, nipa keeps the interior cool by insulating
against heat. It’s budget-friendly and sustainable but needs
replacement after 8-10 years, especially in areas prone to
strong winds.
Bamboo Poles
Ideal for trusses, columns, and decorative elements, bamboo
poles are strong and flexible. They last longer when treated
properly to resist pests and moisture damage.
Abaca Rope or Rattan
Perfect for furniture and decorative accents, abaca and rattan
are strong and stylish. They last long when kept dry and
protected from direct weather exposure.
River Stones
Good for foundations, walls, and decorative landscaping, river
stones are naturally strong and weather-resistant. They require
minimal maintenance but should be paired with proper
drainage to prevent moss buildup.
